POSTION SUMMARY:
The Finance Manager will provide financial reporting and analysis for the consolidated Charter Automotive group. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Charter Automotive Leadership team and Managers to address financial issues. They will support the plan, forecasting and detailed financial analysis for the business and their location. Provide technical support for both accounting and systems for the other Charter Automotive locations.


BASIC FUNCTION:
Promote relevant and timely financial consolidation and reporting of planned, forecasted and actual results. Have an organizational understanding of product pricing and costing, operating variances, performance measures and Gain Sharing opportunities, team involvement and employee interaction.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance
· Knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles and practices.
· Five years experience in corporate or divisional accounting positions with manufacturing exposure.
· Understanding of consolidation processes and elimination entries.
· A familiarity with proper business practices and controls with particular emphasis in financial functions and inventory activity.
· Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, recognize and resolve resource constraints and conflicts, and to provide timely and accurate closure to assignments.
· Working knowledge of IBM Compatible PC and Microsoft Office Software Products (Excel, Power Point, Access, and Word)
· An understanding of integrated management information systems including Oracle, QAD and Sage.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· MBA and/or CPA/CMA
· Financial analysis ability such as return on investment, IRR, NPV, economic profit, and payback analysis
· Formal team training with demonstrated success from past team experiences
· Ability to be a self starter and requiring little or no supervision
· Ability to recognize organizational needs and to respond in a timely and relevant manner.
· Capability of working successfully in a fast paced and demanding work environment with often changing priorities and demands.
· Willingness and ability to reset priorities if business circumstances require
· Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing experience
· Knowledge of Hyperion planning and reporting


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

· Reports to Managing Director


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Provide relevant and timely financial reporting of consolidated results for Charter Automotive and detailed analysis.
· Complete month-end financial close procedures for all entities including consolidation and proper elimination of intercompany profit.
· Support efforts to improve the effectiveness of the financial organization. Identify and implement improvements in financial procedures and methods. Provide backup to Division Controller for critical responsibilities.
· Support organizational efforts to implement shop floor control procedures and a standard cost reporting system for the consolidated group.
· Completion of financial analysis for major capital spending including IRR, NPV and payback calculations.
· Manage the finance/accounting team members to provide accurate and relevant information to all applicable parties.


POSITION CHALLENGES
· Supporting and promoting the implementation of financial and operational reporting and procedures that are currently not in use or are minimally utilized.
· Developing an ability to utilize the management information system to a level, which optimizes job performance while improving management decision making.
