SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for creating quotes for new and existing products within the Delivery Systems division.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Utilize existing standard labor overhead material rates to develop cost estimates for new and existing products.

· Analyze prints, sketches, specifications, bill of materials, samples and electronic models. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to determine cycle times and tools / fixtures required.

· Coordinate with Supply Chain Management on material selection from vendors as required.

· Compile, review and compare actual costs against prior quotes to determine differences and utilize knowledge gained as a basis for future quotes.

· Communicate within Design Engineering group and other functional areas or divisions to insure coordination of quotes within corporate strategies.

· Assemble print packages for prototype manufacturing. Assist engineers in releasing product for production.

· Send finalized quotes to Account Executives for review and approval prior to being released to customer.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES: Support manufacturing process on an as needed basis. Other duties as assigned. Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Engineering, Business, or Accounting preferred, but will consider experience in lieu of degree. 1 or more years estimating experience required that includes a manufacturing background (machining, sheet metal, thermoforming preferred). Previous estimating & office software experience required. Solid modeling experience (Unigraphics) preferred.

SKILLS:

· Knowledge of metal machining & finishing or knowledge of fabrication

• Ability to read & interpret prints, sketches & models.
• Ability (or Ability to learn) basic CAD functions to open & review drawings.
• Basic knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (VISUAL Manufacturing a plus).
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to move from task to task with short notice while maintaining prioritization (ability to function in a dynamic environment).
• Ability to analyze trends and to develop estimates according to corporate strategy.
• Ability to take direction.
• Ability to coordinate people & projects.
• Ability to build professional relationships with others.
