Key Objectives/Principal Accountabilities:
? Being a member of Asia Operations Management Team representing HSE; participate the regional strategy setting and monitoring the execution.
? Identify and prioritize the focused HSE improvement in the region and continuously drive improvements in alignment with the BU the corporate guidelines, such as SAQ, behaviour based safety and process safety management programs.
? Act as the HSE communication link between region and the Corporate, BU and other BU's HSE Departments and ensure communications flow down to the sites in the region.
? Build up the regional HSE network and organize the functioning of the BU/ Corporate HSE processes.
? Participation in regional HSE networks cross BUs, share and implement best practice in the region. ?Lead the regional HSE talent development
? Implement HSE related training, coaching, education for the BSU sites in the region

Functional Responsibilities/Network:
? To ensure the full compliance with local law and regulations and the corporate and BU HSE policies, directives and management systems by providing functional direction as well as support to the designated individuals holding HSE responsibility at all the levels of the organization.
? To drive improvement in the Health, Safety and Environment performance in the region.
? To facilitate the exchange of best practises in the HSE field in- and outside AkzoNobel.
? Network with regional BUs to develop knowledge, experience and leverage best practice
? Contribute to company HSE needs by:
- Auditing for BUs - twice per annum
- Incident investigation for BUs - All reportable injuries require involvement of an HSE leader from outside the BU.
- Participation in development of company standards and guidance on best practices through BU HSE Leaders network.
- Leading at least one global initiative on behalf of company HSE Leadership Team.

Job Context:
? Set up improvement plan and monitoring the progress.
? Cascade the information to sites about the newly-developed / revised corporate, BU HSE policies, directives and about the roll-out of the HSE programs.
? Promote and facilitates the exchange of good practices within the HSE field within the BU
? Maintain regular contact with the external HSE auditors and with the internal HSE organization and participate in selected committees, meetings, projects and conferences.
? Draft and submit the reports from the executed audits to the Regional Management.
? Collect and consolidate the necessary HSE-related information as well as statistics (including, KPI reports) from sites and provide them to the Regional BSU Management.
? The company seeks to achieve top quartile HSE; Regional HSE Leaders have a key role as change agents requiring them to work as a personal advisor to the Regional Directors on safety and as an influential peer of the supply chain, manufacturing and site directors. Requirements:
?Bachelor degree in related field, with a Masters degree preferred.
?Minimum of 8 years experience with Operations or HSE in chemical or coatings industry.
?“Green Field” project experience will be a plus.
?In order to succeed in this role, candidates must bring a clear results orientation and a strong "cando" mentality.
?Excellent interpersonal skills, pragmatism and an energetic management style are indispensable.
?Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region. Additional Information:
