职位描述

Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years minimum experience in the automotive industry. Experience in Reliability/Quality role is preferable.

· Knowledge of engine and/or powertrain products – their functions at a system level and the mechanisms of their components.

· Above average analytical, organizational and communication skills both verbal and written.

· Excellent English: able to effectively discuss technical subjects with senior management and global team members.

· Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional organizational skills (proactive and not reactive).

· Willing to continuously learn and apply common reliability and statistical tools used in the automotive industry.

· Willing to continuously learn and apply common quality management systems used in the automotive industry.


Technical Skills Requirements
· Basic knowledge of reliability testing tools: ALT, HALT, HASS, and Key-Life Testing

· Basic knowledge of statistical analysis (Weibull, normal, log normal, DoE)

· Working knowledge and ability to develop design-for-reliability tools: DFMEA, DRBFM, FTA, Fish-bone Diagram, and Boundary/Interface Diagrams.

· Working knowledge of automotive industry core tools (ISO/TS16949 , APQP, SPC, FMEA, MSA, and PPAP)

· Ability to review and critique 3D CAD models, as well as 2D detailed engineering prints for conformance to Design Statement of Requirements (including GD&T and tolerance stack-up).

· Ability to prepare and conduct customer presentations on PowerPoint.

· Ability to discuss, direct and participate in technical discussions surrounding reliability and robustness of product design.

· Familiarization with customers’ systems and their methodologies in reliability tools would be an asset.

Primary Function
· Provides technical support to the Product and Advanced Engineering Teams during serial development and serial production to maintain product quality and design robustness.

· Monitors and ensures serial development (verification/validation) is taking place in accordance to TS16949.

· Leads, supports, and mentors the use of design-for-reliability tools.

· Leads, supports, and mentors all reliability testing.

· Leads, supports, and mentors all problem resolution tasks that require engineering support throughout serial development or production.


Duties and Responsibilities
1. Applies technical knowledge of the product and abovementioned technical skills to support the Product and Advanced and Engineering Team Designers review the customer SOR, as well as internal requirements/guidelines to identify potential risks early – thereby maintaining product quality and design robustness.

2. Applies reliability and design robustness methodologies to Powertrain applications within FP&CG and/or with sub-component suppliers as directed. This will include, but not be limited to, Front Engine Cover modules, Engine and Transmission Oil Pumps, Vacuum Pumps, Water Pumps, Mass Balance Shafts, as well as applicable sub-components. Must be able to interface with all engineering team members as well as sub-component suppliers to lead and support all requirements for reliability according to TS16949 or during problem resolution tasks.

3. Supports the development of the abovementioned design-for-reliability tools. Ultimately responsible to develop a culture where design team members use these tools as part of the product realization process. But initially responsible to support all design team members create and apply these tools.

4. Supports the development of the abovementioned reliability testing tools. Responsible to create a development plan alongside global reliability members to establish accurate damage factor models for standard DVP&R tests.

5. Applies knowledge of TS16949 to provide a check/balance of all engineering serial development taking place at the engineering center. Required to participate in daily discussions with all engineering center members, as well as with Project/Program Managers to ensure development is aligned with Magna Powertrain’s Global Program Management System.

6. Applies knowledge of abovementioned automotive industry core tools to help maintain equal product quality and design robustness during transition from serial development to serial production. Required to organize and lead hand-over discussions with the relevant project members to track and minimize the risks caused by changes in 5Ms (man, machine, method, material, measurement).

7. Develops and maintains generic DFMEA & DVP for each applicable commodity, including the advanced commodities that are being developed. Therefore responsible for informing all team members regarding Things-Gone-Right (TGR) and Things-Gone-Wrong (TGW) at product design meetings.

8. Support and conducts customer presentations, technical reviews, VA/VE sessions and prepares detailed Reliability Engineering Reports for Engine Components/Systems.

9. Participates in benchmarking of selected Worldwide OEM Engine Components/Systems to seek out new opportunities, technologies, materials or manufacturing processes.

10. Assists in developing improved work instructions or forms for all existing TS16949 Processes.

11. Maintains proper filing systems to ensure all information is properly stored and easily retrieved for all reliability documents.

12. Provides support to the Validation Department to ensure conformance of testing to customer statement of requirements and DVP&R. Reviews the results with colleagues to provide direction for corrective action if required.

13. Ensure all testing is completed for each program and that the results are acceptable (design review based on test results).

14. Participates and/or reviews Warrantee Evaluations and provides engineering support to make recommendations for improvements and/or reports on failure modes (FRACAS).

15. Follows and enforces the guidelines and rules as defined in the Employee Handbook and Company policies.

16. Available for frequent travel on company business.

17. Perform other duties as required by management.
