OVERVIEW

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing the local supply chain, ensuring that the material supply for Radio Design and HWS, are fully provisioned within cost, delivery and quality requirements, for all Group sites.

KEY FUNCTIONS

? With existing supply base ensure that there is sufficient supply of material to support Radio Design’s customer commitments as committed by the Master Planning schedule.
? Seek out new suppliers, especially where products are single sourced, in line with Radio Designs Multi-Vendor supply chain policy.
? Formulate and qualify quotations from new and existing suppliers
? Ensure that material shortages and non-conformances are resolved promptly with minimum disruption to RD and sub-contractor manufacturing.
? Ensure that material is purchased at the optimum cost of ownership to support Radio Design’s business needs. Note not necessarily the lowest piece part price.
? Ensure that there are regular performance reviews and feedback with every key supplier in line with Approved Vendor Procedure.
? Ensure that PPV is effectively managed.
? Provide monthly and quarterly metrics as required for senior management.
? Fully support any local purchasing activities
? Expedite delivery dates against PO requirements, for local purchases
? Identify last- time buys for EOL components and alternative sources, for local requirements.
? Assist in Supplier Auditing.
? Assist in cost reduction activities.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Education

? Degree Educated or equivalent via experience.
? CIPS qualification would be considered an advantage.
? Fluent English speaking&writing.

Job Specific
? Result focused with tenacity to overcome both day to day and systemic issues.
? Negotiation skills.
? Vendor management and development experience.
? Experience in managing supply chains to optimize pricing and delivery.
? Familiar with and frequently use ERP systems and Microsoft tools.
? Have good writing and verbal communication skills.
? Experience and use of activity based costing.
? Experience in electronics manufacturing both in the UK and Worldwide.
? Experience in the use and management of sub-contractors in the supply chain.
? Familiarity of electronics manufacturing as well as processes that require tool making and machining operations.
? A clear knowledge and experience of Chinese custom (Import& Export) regulations and procedure is necessary.
? Ability to work with local and International logistics to ensure smooth and cost effective supply chain.
