Executed (project) support and maintenance to innovation
Guiding and maintaining new / modified software and software applications, where possible as part of a project team, such that failures or interruptions to be kept to a minimum. For this purpose, essentially:
- Monitor / manage the IT environment regarding the available management tools
- Installing and configuring servers for the various applications
- Examining effects of changes in existing software
- Preparation and execution of tests, securing existing software (backup)
Provision of practical technical support
The provision of practical technical support for fault detection, investigating issues, resolving disruptions and optimising opportunities and usage to ensure optimum productivity and quality of data processing. This chiefly entails:
- Analysing the causes of incidents, both in the equipment itself and in conjunction with hardware, where appropriate together with the supplier
- Promoting efficient usage
- Advising on opportunities and usage
- Workplace installation (hard- & software)
Provision of incident management
- Register and communicate (resolution of) incidents with the users in a correct and timely manner.
- To assist the Service Desk’s first line with second and third line incidents. Where necessary, to arrange external support, playing a coordinating role.
- To liaise with Group IT colleagues of the four functional areas for incident resolution and improvements in the local IT environment.
Settled problem handling
- Supporting the Service Desk at 1st line problems. If necessary, requests for external assistance with coordinating role is fulfilled.
Also backed up by understaffing and / or overloading
of Service.
Knowledge safeguarded/ information recorded
To actively follow external developments in computer technology and distinguish and assess developments in terms of their potential applicability. To record, manage and maintain information

To provide project leadership and project support for the design, development and deployment of the IT Infrastructure
Safeguarding quality, health, safety and the environment
- Performs all duties and fulfils all obligations with a focus on protecting the environment, health and safety in the workplace and the quality of products and processes.
- Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of quality, health, safety and the environment. Therefore discusses all potential proposals for improvement with the supervisor or manager involved
- Pro-actively brings problems and situations which jeopardise quality, health, safety or the environment to the attention of the supervisor and takes appropriate action in emergency situations.
