Job Description for Retail Manager (RM)
Location
Reports to General Manager BFEC
Manages Directly supervises retail staff.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Temporary substituted by
Position Summary Leads on-property retail and merchandising functions to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of BFEC commercial objectives.
Responsible for managing and day-2-day coordinating of the retail & merchandising function within the BFEC..
Duties and Responsibilities ? Scheduling and assigning employees; setting targets and following up on achievements.
? Recruits, selects and hires the best staff. Monitors performance and manages all (temporary) sales staff pro-actively, drives a positive staff attitude and appearance, fosters energetic teamwork/relations with co-workers and management, sets-up and drives training programs, implements and actively promotes a customer focused meritocracy system
? Accomplishes a significant level of sales and customer service self; acting as Sales Associate , ensuring customers receive excellent service through direct salesmanship, and prompt and courteous service, assisting customers with questions, needs and purchases and operating the cash register.
? Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
? Promotes and markets the business and support marketing and sales events within the BFEC
? Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand retail and merchandising product requirements.
? Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
? Maintaining inventories and stock control
? Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
? Supported by the M&SM, markets merchandise by advertising, sales promotion, and display plans
? Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
? Protects staff and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
? Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
Skillset Qualifications ? Polished personal presentation with commercial personality.
? Customer focused and a high degree of commercial awareness with excellent sales and negotiation skills. Good business sense and the ability to motivate a team.
? General math and finance skills; tracking budget expenses, pricing
? Vendor Relationships
? Positive, energetic and collaborative
? Taking responsibility for getting things done, and taking pride in doing them well.
? Leader by example
? Extremely detail oriented
? Problem spotting and solving skills
Education and certifications ? A degree in any discipline is acceptable for entry into the profession, although a qualification in subjects such as marketing, business administration, or leisure can be advantageous
? Business studies or management degree holders may be advantageous
? Must have a complete knowledge of Fire Procedures and a health and safety certificate
? Working knowledge and experience with Point of sale software.
Experience 2 to 4 years’ proven successful experience in a similar role in a similar setting
Language and Communication Skills Mandarin and English
? Ability to train, manage and motivate staff
? Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies
? Excellent communication, sales and negotiation skills.
KPI’s ? Profitability and budget control
? Staff retention and satisfaction
? Customer satisfaction rates
