SETTING OF THE POSITION
National Geographic Ultimate Explorer (NGUX) is an entirely new concept for family entertainment centers that combines the best elements from theme-parks, museums, gaming and role-playing into a truly innovative experience. Guests go on missions, play, learn and travel the globe to become a National Geographic Ultimate Explorer! This park will cater to guests aged 4 to 14, and we encourage the entire family to participate. The park will occupy 5,000 m2 floor space, welcome around 2,500 to 3,500 guests a day and engage around 80 to 100 in staff in total. NGUX will include Food & Beverage and a retails-section.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Lead and motivate the attraction staff to ensure excellent standards of safety, guest service, presentation and maintenance to help achieve significant EBITDA growth and guest-satisfaction. Direct and coordinate with all areas of the business to create memorable experiences by ensuring and facilitating the delivery of superior guest service in a manner that is in line with our company vision and values. The GM will work closely with the Regional General Manager, China, strategizing and formulating business plans that will direct and coordinate attraction’s activities to develop and implement short and long term goals to meet business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Hire, retain and motivate qualified, enthusiastic, eager and dedicated staff according to standards. Organize and execute rigorous training for all staff and encourage NGUX a fun place to work. Be the Champion of hospitality and fun!
? Manage budgets/expenses, analyze and interpret financial information and monitor sales and profits.
? Monitor and increase guest-satisfaction, handle customer complaints when necessary and design and execute an energetic guest-satisfaction program.
? Work with the Operations and Marketing Manager to drive a dynamic and exciting program of activities, creating high customer loyalty and strong word-of-mouth.
? Work closely with the F&B Manager in order to maximize profit potential in the Food & Beverage department. Continuously work on scanning for additional / new / relevant business areas and opportunities to maximize asset utilization.
? Propose annual business plan, budgets and budget strategies, capex and specify targets for each department and direct efforts of the managers and monitor their performance. Take corrective action when needed. Deliver the agreed business performance while continuously seeking to exceed it.
? Manage the process of additions, changes & upgrade to the facilities including preparing studies and reports, obtaining requisite approvals (internal/external), setting up of systems procedures and all other related actions.
? Organize and run day to day operation of the NGUX, its attractions and various sections to ensure the highest operational standards and product excellence. Combine highest quality with maximum efficiency.
? Be responsible for all government relations, setting up all required security systems and procedures including arrangements with necessary civil and medical authorities, and for obtaining and maintaining all operating approvals for the opening and on-going operations of the facility.
? In conjunction with the Marketing department ensure strong and coordinated delivery of attraction marketing strategies including Promotions, Trade Marketing and PR.
? Implement consistent operation of all financial controls achieving minimum standards set by internal audit.
? Ensure all show and non-show Capex projects are rationally justified, delivered on time, on budget and to desired specifications.
? Lead daily team briefings and demonstrate the group values at every opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
? Minimum of 5 years at Attraction Manager or Senior Operational Level in a high visitor volume location. Specific experience could come within Leisure, Entertainment, Tourism
? Minimum Educational Attainment: Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
? Hands on accountability and responsibility for delivering a high volume of visitors on an annual basis.
? An extravert and positive energy radiating persona, feeling very comfortable addressing larger groups of people.
? Superb communicator, highly motivated and great leader; a strong believer in Leadership-By-Example
? Experienced in marketing, events management and merchandising
? Takes initiative and self-starter.
? Proven success in delivering EBITDA targets for a minimum of 3 years.
? Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
? Detail orientation with value placed upon accuracy.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
? Working hours will be during opening hours (esp. evenings and weekends).
? Unsocial hours are a necessity due to the nature of the entertainment industry
