Responsibility

As an Engineer, you will begin to shift from learning and assisting to fully contributing to solving technical problems while growing your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. You will partner with and provide technical guidance to global teams. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology. You will also continue to grow your professional network.

In this role, you will also deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar’s products, technologies, processes, services and systems, which you will use to:

？ Define and approve the engine specification to meet customer functional and legal requirements.

？ Monitor, upgrade and control the engine specification from initial prototype to production status.

？ Undertake a formal appraisal of the final installation condition, working with the customer to solve any sign-off concerns prior to production build.

？ Investigate and solve applications related engine concerns through root cause determination and closed loop feedback. This will be both internal and external facing.

？ Retrieval of data and preparation of reports, faxes and presentations in support of customer requirements.

？ Initiate and monitor new product and component actions in support of customer programmes, via the appropriate internal systems and monitor Product Engineering work.

？ Develop the distributor network to allow them to self-supporting on applications related issues.

？ Provide technical guidance within and between customers and other internal teams.

Knowledge / Experience/ Skills Required

？ Ability to provide a consistently high level of support to Customer enquiries in a timely manner.

？ Flexibility to travel at short notice if required.

？ Written and verbal communication skills required for all levels of the business in both English and Mandarin.

？ Engineering Degree, with at least 5 years experience as an engineer.

？ Experience of project management for customers’ engine and installation needs.

？ Ability to make unsupervised decision to support the customer / organisation in a pressured situation.

？ Ability to train distributors, operators and end users.

？ Capability to use appropriate computer skills, to complete reports etc.. i.e.. Microsoft Office.

？ Be a team player, Collaborate with and support other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers.
