JOB PURPOSE:

To manage movement of inbound & outbound materials & FG, pay/avoid related duties/taxes; also to compile and maintain freight, distribution, insurance and packing data relating to the engine pricing database.

JOB DUTIES:

Liaises with related government to ensure Customs & CIQ regulatory compliance and rules applicable to duty/tax avoidance. Be responsible for Customs handbook application, verification and management

Tracking & follow inbound & outbound Customs clearance progress, including material, FG and equipment. Liaises with suppliers (and customers) shipping lines & haulers in connection with the movement of goods. Processes insurance claims as/if applicable under the Maritime Insurance Policy. Monitors (and verifies) freight, distribution, insurance and packing costs, identifying and implementing cost down opportunities.

Assists in the planning, development implementation and operation of the systems and processes for the payment and avoidance of duties and taxes.

Compiles, manages and manipulates data applicable to freight, distribution, insurance and packing costs. Authorises and verifies customs clearance agency use of Perkins’ deferment account and apportions costs internally. Monitors actual spend of outbound & inbound against forecast and aligns Freight, Distribution, Insurance & Packing costs as a proportion of the engine cost in the Pricing Structures. Offers a load planning service and secures export freight facilities for 'expedited' goods.

Typical internal customers include a Department or Business/Service Unit in a Division. Impacts key quality goals including Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, etc.

Limited travel required (Less than 5% of working time).

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

College degree or above;
At least 3 years working experience in import & export or logistics field in multinational companies.
Familiar with import & export process and have a profound understanding with customs regulations and related laws
Good English both written and oral

Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
