Responsibilities of the position:
As an E4E Diesel product development engineer:
? Lead product development projects with cross-functional team members from design, aerodynamics, material and structure, etc. to develop and qualify the base product for global and emerging market applications.
? Keep close interface with the customer team and external customers in to understand customer needs, define and develop product CTQs, deploy the CTQs into product function requirements and lead the end-to-end product development program by applying appropriate design for reliability tools.
? Manage and coordinate product design/analysis, prototype hardware procurement/assembly and product testing/evaluation activities in order to drive the project to success.
Qualifications:
? B.S. engineering degree (M.S. preferred) or equivalent with major in internal combustion engine or its related.
? Three or more years of experience in the internal combustion engine industry is a must.
? Working experience with engine development, performance tests is expected.
? Experience working directly with vehicle or engine OEMs and suppliers is very important.
? Experience working with cross-functional teams to launch new products is preferred.
? Fundamental knowledge in mechanical design is a must, turbo mechanical background is preferred.
? FEA and metallurgical experience is a plus.
? Six sigma or DFSS certification required.
Skills:
? Able to contribute within a diverse team of engineers effectively.
? Positive attitude, willingness to learn and an aptitude for analysis.
? Solid experience with complex engineering project management.
? Must be a strong communicator, proficient in English, both speaking and writing.
? A basic mechanical ability.
? Strong bias for action.
Key Success Factors:
? A quick learner to grow personal expertise on mechanical and aerodynamic design of turbochargers, and turbocharger/engine applications within a short time of period.
? Ensure customer performance and reliability targets are met for all launched emerging markets based products.
? Evaluate and recommend technical solutions based on standard or accepted technical practices.
? Impact business opportunities through successful completion of tasks and projects.
? Apply advanced and/or new techniques to solve problems having multiple variables.
? Good interpersonal skills to lead a virtual project team
