Job objective:
Responsible for assist Engineering Manager to manage the Capital project of IFT in order to attain a world class standard of excellence in manufacturing. Driving on outstanding project list on hand, contractor management, cost control and contribute great project management.
 
Key responsibilities:
   Prioritise capital projects with Engineering Manager.
   Coordinate input from all stakeholders in a capital project to draft the project scope.
   Liaise with other Interface sites to take their experience and know-how into account in the project scope and design.
   Be the lead on capital projects in term of Engineering know-how, scope, design, design validation, contractors and vendors selection, tendering, contractor selection, Capex preparation and submission, execution, commissioning and trouble shooting, training of operators and hand over. Be the company’s control point on project to ensure project is running to plan. Coordinate corrective action between all involved parties on any project plan deviation.
   Use and coordinate internal resources (Design, Technical, OH&S, Quality, Purchasing etc…) to assist and take ownership of their relevant part of the projects.
   Develop key performance indicators and process to control and track progress of capital project management.
   For projects with a lead contractor acting as project manager (turn key project type), critically oversee and assess project stages and deliverables, and intervene through contractor when project gets off track.
   Ensure continuous update and communication of status of project to management as well as internal stakeholders and internal customers of the project.
   Manage all aspects of capital project from start to finish so that it is completed to the project scope, on time, on quality and on budget.
   To ensure that project is handed over to respective department smoothly as well as operated at scoped safety, efficiency, cost and product quality
   Maintain efficient communication between all parties.
  
   The role does not have direct supervision of staff, but has authority under the supervision of the Engineering manager, for internal action, use of internal resources, as well as coordination of external parties in relation to capital project under the capital project engineer’s control.
   Maintain & enhance communication required positive employee relations and also establish employee’s engagement & team building to ensure successful completion of projects.
   Embrace diversity, suggestions, lead through influence and engagement of stakeholders and effective communication. Assist in instilling core values in the employees at different levels in the organization.
   Develop status reports on capital projects.
   Other task or project as required by the Engineering Manager.

Personal attributes and Job requirements:
   At least Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Engineering related filed.
   At least 3-5 years in Engineering project, project management, contractor management, cost control in manufacturing experience.
   Problem Solving (including evaluating options, root cause analysis, systematic development of alternatives, defect analysis)
   Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
