Job Description
TheGlobal Network Services team provides broad and diverse services to the global enterprise. Services are generally categorized as LAN, WAN, Voice, Internet, Contact Center and Video. All applications, business functions and other IT services and systems rely upon Network Services to deliver for our external customers, internal customers and Field. The network is foundational to all design, development, implementation, support, and revenue production for the Company and all its’ businesses.
This position is responsible for implementation of global voice, WAN, LAN solutions following architecture standards and best practices while working with the network team to establish supporting capability, capacity and redundancy. This position is responsible for documentation, problem analysis and resolution.
Main Responsibilities
? Provide global network support inclusive of provisioning, administration, and operational support. Monitor network elements and systems that make up the global network including WAN, LAN, WLAN, voice and related devices.
? Responsible for the implementation of methods, procedures, and practices used for installation, maintenance, augmentation and repair of network elements and supporting infrastructure. This includes security, monitoring, disaster recovery, MACD, trouble ticketing, change management, inventory and design documentation.
? Using NMS tools, identify, isolate, and resolve events that may occur in all components of the network, clearly documenting each event and actions taken in the trouble ticketing system.
? Responsible for timely repair coordination, event notifications, and escalations, related to network outages, impairments or maintenance activities.
? Open tickets with and coordinates repair efforts with 3rd party providers.
? Schedule, prepare and implement network related changes; perform validation and redundancy testing after changes; document and implement changes following ITIL practices
Basic Qualifications
? Bachelors degree
? CCNP required or equivalent experience
? 3-5 years of experience with administration, implementation and troubleshooting of IP routers, layer 2 and layer 3 switches. Cisco experience is a requirement
? Network troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience in an enterprisetelecommunications environment or equivalent.
? Experience with SNMP, Syslog, network alarming or performance monitoring protocols and tools.
? 1+ years’ experience in a midsize or large corporation supporting multiple lines of business with global presence
? Experience supporting applications such as ticketing systems, workforce management, quality management and knowledge management
? Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision required.
? Personal computer skills, working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing software required.
? Network support is a 24/7/365 operation. Employee must be willing and able to work non-standard work shifts, including evenings, overnight, holidays, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
? CCIE
? Proficient with Microsoft Visio design / documentation application
? Experience with Microsoft OCS or Lync telephony and video
? Strong inter-personal skills in collaborating with diverse audiences, negotiating difficult solutions and facilitating conflict resolution
? Experience working for a network service provider or consultant
? ITIL Foundation Certification or related experience
? Exceptional analytical and technical skills
? Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
