POSITION SUMMARY:
The Epoxy business is a key business within the global Performance Materials Division and requires a Sr Research Technician for Civil Engineering applications. The position involves technology development programs from concept initiation through commercialization, working closely with team members from our Applications Development, Product R&D. The candidate will be required to function effectively on cross-functional project teams. The ability to document observations and findings as well troubleshoot lab operations is essential.
This position involves up to 5% travel to global locations in order to lead and support programs.
Existing project areas where the candidate can expect to be involved include:
? Conducting application test for ambient cure via a variety of methods to validate curing speed, coating performance on surface appearance
? Design experiments and prepare samples to evaluate thermal resistance and mechanical performance
? Analysis of raw materials and products via a variety of wet methods and chromatography to qualify new suppliers, determine product composition, monitor reaction progress and troubleshoot operations issues.
Key skill areas required in this position are civil engineering or coating lab application fundamentals, software skills including Microsoft Excel and Word, process hazard analysis and lab equipment configuration. General knowledge or familiarity with epoxy chemistry, thermal mechanical analysis techniques are a plus.

Qualifications:
- A track record of safety in the laboratory
- A minimum of three years’ experience in lab for flooring or coating industry
- Degree in Chemistry or Chemical engineering
- Experience with batch processing and separations
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams 举报 分享
