Sr Copy Writer
The copy writer ensures that the Chinese language used on the MM components fits with the target user and continuously work towards optimizing existing copy to boost engagement and conversion.
Role Requirements:
Must have:
Native Chinese with relevant Bachelors degree (Language, News, Marketing, etc.) from China and level CET-4 for English
At least 3 years’ experience in online product copywriting with an emphasis on digital, e-commerce and tech
Familiar with the latest Internet language trends for the mainland Chinese market
Excellent communication skills and an impeccable eye for detail
Ability to approach tasks with a ‘can-do’ attitude, work well independently and in a team
Desirable:
Worked for a leading internet copy in China, preferably in the eCommerce or fashion space
Fluency in English with CET-6+ or demonstrated via experience from overseas study/employment
Familiar with data metrics and product/software development processes
Familiar with both front-end buyer and back-end seller eCommerce experiences
Confidence working with colleagues of all levels across all functions
Active writer on WeChat subscription account, Weibo, Douban, RED, Qyer, MaFengWo
Responsibilities:
Set and update copy standards across the various MM components and document standards on central repository.
Working closely with product and design team members to ensure that each requirement has the final copy pre-implementation
Adhoc copy support for engineering when implementing new features, improvements, and bugs
Proactively gather and analyse feedback from internal and external users
Use data and key metrics to measure the impact of various copy requests and transform those insights into measurable ideas
Create copy backlog items centered around copy strategies/pursuasion techniques and integrate them into future improvements
Research language trends relevant to MM's target audience and apply learnings as enhancements when applicable
