Job Purpose
Performs intermediate-level testing. Responsible for writing and executing test plans and cases, designing and developing test tools, problem isolation and analysis, analyzing, prioritizing, and reporting code bugs, white box and black box testing, and working on an automation infrastructure and scripts by creating your own tools or using off the shelf tools such as Compuware TestPartner, Rational Robot, etc.
Works closely with the Development and Program Management teams to ensure the feature/product is compliant to design specifications, test results generation/compilation and reporting, interfacing with a number of other product teams across the company, etc
May be project test lead and participate in all review phases of the development lifecycle (Requirements, Design, Implementation). Works closely with all functional leaders and the PM to ensure that all necessary test activities are considered appropriately in the project schedule.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE
? Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
? Minimum of 6 years experience in Software Testing, Software Development, or other Testing/Quality Assurance role.
? Minimum 2-4 years experience with automated test tools.
? Candidates should have good design and object oriented programming experience as extensive automation needs to be written in C#, SQL, and XML
? Proficiency in Windows operating systems (2000, XP, 2003 Server and Vista) required.
? Experience with Microsoft Office products required.
? Working knowledge of software test methodologies required.
? Knowledge of VB.NET programming language is expected
? Must exhibit good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
? Ability to work both independently and collectively in a team environment
? Excellent technical and communication skills, works well with other teams, passionate about learning new skills and driving for results, strong problem solving skills and customer focus
? Experience testing highly integrated software products.
? Software quality assurance techniques, methodologies and best practices – model based test design, test automation, Windows Security, test design patterns, Database system concepts and architecture – data models, schemas, database languages, DBMS.
? Familiarity with industrial automation software products is preferred.
? Experience in debugging and troubleshooting Microsoft network protocols
