Position Summary
This position is assisting to Asia Glass Industry manager by building in-depth marketing knowledge for the glass industry success towards achieving the Asia Merchant Gases (AMG) business objectives and strategy. Within this segment, the position is responsible for marketing activities including offering introduction within Asia to: (1) understand the external market environment and industry drivers and support industry marketing manager to provide input to guide segment priorities and R&D activities for the global merchant gases business; (2) defining clear marketing strategies and plans for how to approach the market in order to fulfill changing customer needs; (3) monitor the business and manage prospects pipeline with internal integrated system.
Success in this role will require leading the AMG resources associated with the segment and collaborate and facilitate with internal (sales, commercial technology/GAD, product management, product development, R&D, and finance) and external groups (customers, consultants, partners, suppliers) to develop and guide new offerings. The incumbent must have strong leadership and organizational skills as well as an ability to communicate and work effectively across the matrix with the country businesses and various supporting functions.
Principal Accountabilities
Strategic Marketing
1. Support to identify strategies and vehicles to grow the Asia Merchant Gases segment towards the Asia vision
? Quantify opportunities for growth of revenue and profits for the respective industry segments and identify strategies and requirements to pursue such opportunities
? Through a consolidated view of external business environment, identify and analyze market needs, amenable size, and critical success factors to win.
? Create, develop, and execute the regional market plan for Glass industry and its sub segments.
Segment Market Management
2. Support to manage New Offering Introduction Process
? Provide strategic and industry input to the Asia Merchant team
? Provide marketing leadership to the full commercial team in Merchant Gases comprising R&D, CT/EPT, Generated Gases, Product Development, and Sales.
? Shape the implementation of the new business models in the industry segment
? Participate in resource prioritization decisions.
? Manage new offering launch and introduction
? Create brand image in Glass industry through external marketing work such as exhibitions, seminars, conference presentations, advertisement, articles, websites, etc.
? Ensure sufficient glass prospects in the prospect pipeline for Sales and CT and run campaigns for lead generation as required
Competency and Skills
3. Apply marketing organization, tools, systems, and work processes to the segment.
? Develop and prioritize the market sub-segmentation efforts.
? Work with country CTs, sales team and direct marketing team to develop leads generation program guideline in the target market.
? Work with Marcom team to develop sales tools and implement Asia marketing activities plan targeting on promote reputation and marketing position in target markets.
? Maintain close coordination and collaboration with CT, Tonnage marketing, merchant gases team and other function team as needed to optimize the marketing focus for the AMG segment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Job Incumbent is expected to have a Bachelor's Degree in a business or engineering/science field. There is an added advantage if incumbent has postgraduate qualifications
2. Job Incumbent is expected to have minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing
3. Good English ability is important for the role.
