Justification Explanation
Engine Systems Products in LPSD is building an Aftertreatment and Exhaust System team in CRDC-Wuxi, China (AT&ES-China) effective Jan 1st 2016 with objective to develop exhaust and aftertreatment components for use in CAT machine and engine applications. The AT&ES-China is seeking total 5 design engineers with target salary grade (21 to 23) to setup the initial team to support AT&ES-US projects, and develop regional supply chain with GSN.


The Senior Engineer on the AT&ES-C design team is responsible for managing all aspects of the projects assigned to the team. Working with the design engineer and contract or offshore engineers on the same team, the senior engineer will keep the project on schedule, manage changes and releases, lead validation planning, communicate design materials, ensure NPI/CPI issues are resolved, and manage product costs. They will provide guidance and assistance to other team members to ensure the overall success of the team.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Developing and managing a project plan, reporting regularly on status
* Preparing content guides, reviewing w/ leadership, and requesting/managing job numbers
* Reviewing 100% of engineering releasing notices including stock disposition
* Owning all NPI/CPI issues, keeping these updated in MyNPI and closing on schedule
* Participating in Requirement cascade through DFMEA, and leading the validation planning
* Preparing design review material for DAV’s
* Owning product cost and preparing cost rollups
* Point of contact for all field issues requiring engineering support

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering or Materials Science curriculum
* 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience required
* Strong analytical skills and emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks


Desired Qualifications:

* Experience with structural analysis of fabricated components
