GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
He / She will work together with the different Purchasing Commodity Manager worldwide; both on Indirect and Direct spend; and lay out the areas to investigate to impact and improve the profitability of the VCS business unit through the implementation of costs reduction, rationalization and process improvement projects.
Build cost model for key product to support supplier negotiation, improve competitiveness and support business acquisition.
Collect various of cost data, provide useful analytical information to management team for decision making on make or buy.
Launch global cost optimization programs with focus on cost of goods approaches, quality and supply chain optimizations, complexity reductions, international synergies & re-sourcing initiatives.
Reports and tracking on monthly basis cost savings against budget to the Global Purchasing Manager, tracking and reporting projects progress.
Tracking the raw material trend globally and analyze the impact on commodities.
Be an expert, understand and effectively communicate global business trends & drivers (technological & business footprints). This will require meetings in the early morning and late evenings.
Manages Purchasing System – SAP and be the key user for SAP and other purchasing tools.
Consolidating the supplier base and commodity strategy, working with each Commodity Manager for business plan including cost reduction, BCC MWBE objectives, supplier performance objectives.
Serve as single-point-of-contact for Plan development, forecasts and reconciliation.
Provide recover mechanisms for cost drives, when necessary.
Manage cross-functional team (incl. BU and Purchasing functions).
Support all purchasing/quality reporting and training;
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? Must be highly motivated, assertive, able to work independently and manage projects to predefined timelines and deadlines
? Strong experience on working with/at plant with production team.
? Proficiency in spoken and written English.
? Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese (Mandarin).
? Ability to work across a variety of cultures and mindsets.
? Strong understanding of the key success factors of efficient global supply chain management.
? Ability to work in a team environment across all corporate functions: engineering, marketing, purchasing, production.
? Good written and oral communication skills.
? Computer literate (Word, Excel, Access).
? Willingness and ability to travel.
? Self-motivated, able to manage many projects simultaneously.
? Solid analytical skills, with excellent follow-up and attention to detail.
