Major Accountabilities :
Cross Functional Collaboration
The candidate for this position must have demonstrated success effectively working and collaborating cross functionally and possess strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The candidate must also have the ability to manage and conduct multiple simultaneous auditing and monitoring initiatives, perform thorough analytical reviews, proactively identify and evaluate trends and prepare meaningful and accurate reports suitable for use in reporting audit results and delivering effective presentations to management and relevant committees. (e.g DCCC)
Monitoring and Control
The candidate for this position will have responsibility for regularly engaging with key business units and process owners, performing independent reviews of business records and transactions, preparing comprehensive analyses and summary reports of audits in effort to proactively identify areas for business enhancements, non-compliance with regulatory guidelines, company policies and/or written standards and mitigate potential compliance issues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. In collaboration with Investigations and Monitoring and other key stakeholders, support the implementation of the Integrity & Compliance audit and monitoring program;
2. Represent the I&C function in a manner consistent with established branding standards;
3. Conduct thorough timely audits, review and analyses of various company business records, functions and processes (within Commercial/Field Sales, Marketing and Medical) in accordance with established business rules, audit and monitoring practices and work programs;
4. In conjunction with other I&C teams, participate in various Novartis China national meetings and local programs with the goal of ensuring comprehensive understanding and application of policies and regulations and raising awareness of our compliance program focus on education and prevention;
5. Collaborate with key internal and external business partners in order to support and continuously enhance Audit and Monitoring personnel knowledge and training;
6. Able to effectively utilize various technical applications, navigate through various data systems, gather and analyze data from multiple relevant sources in order to identify trends, patterns of non-compliance and or gaps in established key controls, processes and/or procedures;
7. Effectively share and communicate audit observations, directly initiate and support the development of remediation plan with key stakeholders and executive management;
8. Provide support and assistance to business to ensure the business monitoring plans of specified operations within each focus area are developed and executed as required;
9. Conduct appropriate follow-up and periodic monitoring activities to ensure remediation and corrective action plans are implemented and carried out;
10. Interface and effectively collaborate with various governance committees, third party vendors/contract personnel, the Business Practices Office, legal, HR, and other relevant departments as required;
11. Establish credible and collaborative business cross-functional relationships for the identification of potential areas of non-compliance, as well as ensure adherence to and maintenance of established work programs and processes;
12. Support timely and effective communication and implementation of any new deliverables based on the outcome of audit and monitoring, investigations, risk assessments and Root cause analytics and
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education: Degree; a minimum of 5 years overall experience and education in either Compliance, Commercial Sales and Marketing or Medical Operations, Audit and Monitoring activities or a related or equivalent discipline.
Travel:Some travel expected as part of assigned duties
Languages: Mandarin mother tongue, English fluent
Experience:
1. Strong Data analytical, interpersonal, communication, and collaborative project management and comprehensive business plan development skills;
2. Working knowledge of in either Compliance, Commercial, Medical and Field support operations, related business engagements, audit and monitoring techniques including risk identification, data testing and validation and root cause analytics;
3. Functional and technical knowledge of various operating systems supporting internal and external business transactions, contractual arrangements, customer interactions, aggregate spend and expense reporting;
4. Support and implementation of new technologies and automation of processes in order to increase department and program efficiencies and productivity; and
5. Maintaining confidentiality of information.
