PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1.General Product Management
a.Track revenue, costs, profitability and all other relevant Key Performance Indicators of scroll compressors
b.Support to align and integrate JCH scroll compressors with JCI products on project base.
c.Report market share by product line (and appropriate sub-categories) and identify trends, gaps and determine actions needed to grow share
d.Prepare timely and accurate financial plans and forecasts for business planning. Identify major deviations between actual and plan and recommend corrective actions.
e.Maintain tracking of our products and competitors’ products success within scroll compressors globally and identify opportunities and gaps.
2.Sales & Customer (Internal and External OEM) Interface
a.Maintain product line specific content for sales support, sales training and customer collateral.
b.Use voice of customer (internal and external) to determine and validate requirements for existing products as well as new product developments. Focus should be on how to collect feedback in a way that determines actual customer needs/problems and what benefits of future products would be of value (not just suggested solutions/designs).
c.Develop first-hand familiarity with HVAC product line managers and Global Design Department through which primary market needs are addressed. Gain first-hand knowledge of the economic and cultural environment they operate in.
d.Represent scroll compressor Product Line throughout JCH CBU.
3.Marketing:
a.For scroll compressors, develop core positioning and messaging for product lines consistent with overall JCH strategy, the Hitachi, York and OEM brands positioning and JCH Vision/Goals.
b.Manage a full complement of global sales tools (compressor selection tools, etc) needed by the internal and external customers to be better positioned to compete in the market.
c.Support promotional activities in industry and professional forums.
d.Create launch plans and ramp down plans for products in accordance with product development schedules and the strategic product roadmap for rotary and scroll compressors.
e.Support training program needs and materials for internal and external customers.
4.Product & Strategy Roadmap
a.Responsible on planning and suggestion of scroll compressors globally, report to Product Manager – identifying and implementing actions related to competitive positioning opportunities, identifying product gaps, predicting competitive reactions and planning product development, product line effectiveness and profitability
b.Maintain product roadmap for scroll compressors produced in all plants.
c.Deliver the products, features, options and sales tools required to feed strategic growth plans both global and regionally focused.
d.Manage product line lifecycle including phase in/phase out schedules for various plants, product extensions or option additions and value engineering.
e.Identify new business opportunities for scroll compressors.
5.Costing
a.Maintain, in collaboration with manufacturing facilities, standard costs based on commodity guidance, product design/development and VAVE projects.
b.Track margin variance and current costs and maintain understanding of real cost position versus standard cost/FTP. Recommend actions to correct and manage cost.
c.Work with costing team to use market price data to drive target cost setting for product development projects.
6.Business Planning & Competitive Analysis
a.Capture market product requirements for new product developments that include the Global needs across all regional businesses.
b.Assemble competitive benchmarking and position needed to complete requirements for product development projects and verify feasibility of concept product developments.
c.Ensuring product developments meet customer promised expectations (performance, operation, reliability) and driving any required cross functional applications (engineering, service, sales, operations, supply chain)
d.Manage or play a key role in leading the product development projects to meet critical dates and the requirements of the product development process.
