SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
The incumbent will be responsible to support the Materials Analyst team leader in the analysis, development, and implementation of Rockwell Automation’s materials planning and logistics processes, systems, performance metrics, and reports. Through a thorough understanding of customer service and inventory performance metrics, he/she will identify opportunities and execute plans to improve inventory performance while ensuring consistent customer service levels.
This position will work very closely with the Supply Planning team as well as the country logistics teams in various AP countries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide analysis and reports using various logistics information systems to monitor and measure the effectiveness of materials planning and logistics activities. Develop a detailed understanding of the functionality of existing systems (SAP, ORACLE.) and work closely with other functions and country logistics to implement new functionality and/or new systems.
2. Identify and implement optimization programs in the functional areas of finished goods distribution and overall inventory management and order services. Participate in business process improvement activities.
3. Provide in-depth inventory analysis to monitor and improve the inventory performance of each country and BU and at the regional level. Lead efforts to minimize excess inventory and obsolescence cost. Review and report inventory turns by category and region, and inventory trends. Process improvement and data integrity responsibility
4. Coordinate with Country Logistics, Global Materials, and BU Marketing to review, approve, and execute stocking proposal by country.
5. Assist AP Inventory & Planning Manager in creating presentations for Business Strategic Reviews, leadership staff meetings, etc.
6. Ensure thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but are not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality, and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1) Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or Computer Science.
2) Strong practical experience with processes, systems, performance metrics, and reporting will be required. Previous experience in setting up and reporting performance metrics including customer service and inventory will be highly desirable.
3) Experience in extracting and analyzing data using information system reporting tools such as SQL, MS Access and MS Excel etc and familiarity with Visual Basic and 24 x 7 Scheduler
4) Direct working experience with SAP will be a distinct advantage.
5) Understands and demonstrates how to tie functional and operational demands and enabling technologies that can help drive quality process improvements for the business
6) Strong and independent trouble-shooting skills to investigate and identify causal.
7) Ability to establish good and productive working relationships with various countries, functions, and business units will be required.
8) Proficiency in Mandarin will be an advantage.
