Product Designer (Location: Shenzhen)

Position Summary:

Responsible for designing and developing a full range apparel and accessory collection for Titleist Brand. Translate design and concepts from technical drawings to samples and fitting with sourcing office of principal. With good sense on branded Golf market, included Technology of the Golf Apparel and Accessories.

• Lead the design function from a creative and organizational perspective.
• Ensure sufficient service to product management and development.
• Design products for the China regional Apparel range based upon input from product management in order to supply the needs of the China market consumer.
• Own the creative process to make sure that the final products meet Business Unit commercial and image objectives.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

• Collect relevant information needed to create an appropriate regional Golf apparel & accessories collection.
• Research market competitors and trends within Licensed Apparel.
• Produce trend and travel reports for other members of the product development team.
• Work with Product Development Manager, Merchandiser to develop product directions and features for Apparel & Accessories.
• Styling and designing well performed product, technically addressing fit, construction, fabrics and design lines from concept to completion.
• Preparing schedules for the whole process of Product Development from Concept, Design, Technical drawings, Proto samples, Fitting samples, Tradeshow samples to the last session of Pre-production samples.
• Conceptualize, research, and apply new technologies to the assigned apparel category.
• Identify problems, develop solutions, and seek innovative approaches to the development of functional sports and lifestyle apparel.
• Design collections this includes hand sketches illustrations technical drawings color concepts and colored sketches story boards merchandizing boards graphic solutions.
• Ensure all sketches and data are provided to development in a timely manner and ensure appropriate interaction and communication are maintained at all times between design development and marketing.
• Communicate with principal and suppliers for handling Product Profile and Tech pack for production purpose.
• Assist Product Development Manager in all issues regarding the realization of specific products and collections.
• Resolve costing/margin issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Highly innovative.
• Complex understanding of trends, insights and cultural anthropology.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to excite people about new ideas.
• Highly organized and able to multi-task and good time management skills.
• Good communications and time management skill.
• Proactive, creative with technical experience, plus excellent sense of fashion/market trends, materials, color, shapes, etc.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims and technical garment construction.
• Strong knowledge of costing and margin implication.
• Proficiency in using MAC software, Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw are essential.

Requisite Education and Qualifications:

• University degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Design or Functional Apparel design.
• Strong knowledge in fabric, garment construction & pattern.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• At least 5 years of apparel design experience gained from reputable golf/sports/lifestyle apparel companies.
