Purpose of Position:
To support China corporate communications through media outreach, employee communications, corporate social responsibility and crisis communications. The main responsibility is to monitor and post FedEx information on the social media platforms.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mass communications or related discipline.
Experience:Four (4) years Public Relations experience in an agency or an organization within the public or private sector.
Technical Expertise:
- Proven project management abilities with an emphasis on crisis management skills and event management.
- Knowledge of Public Relations, Corporate Relations/Corporate Contributions and Investor Relations.
- Excellent English and local language communication skills, oral and written.
General Summary of Job Description
- Work with senior department staff in shaping attitudes, perceptions and performance of major company audiences including employees, news media and government officials by assisting with the production of a variety of communications programs and vehicles.
- Use communications programs and vehicles to strengthen and protect the reputation and brand.
- Ensure company image and profile are properly represented internally and externally.
- Work on the development of long-range corporate communications plans.
- Coordinate with vendors and agencies and internal resources during the implementation of communications activities.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain relations with reporters
- Serve as company spokesperson and respond to media inquiries
- Write press releases, presentations, and speeches
- Pitch stories and interviews
- Conduct media roundtables, executive interviews, media tours, courier ride alongs, and facility tours
- Create and maintain press packet materials
- Identify and / or write byline and OpEd stories
- Prepare briefing books for executives and develop communications plans for media events and other communications activities
- Gather intelligence on competitor activities and monitor media
- Support media monitoring program for analysis of program performance
- Support HR, Sales, Marketing and Government Affairs activities
- Ensure HR communications aligns with overall company communications
- Support production of APAC employee newsletters
- Identify potential issues prepare situation reports and implement contingency plans
- Maintain headlines and messaging
- With the Speakers Bureau and agencies, identify and evaluate speaking opportunities
- Coordinate corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities
- Manage media for targeted CSR activities
- Support Government Affairs activities to ensure alignment on FedEx external materials
- Manage executive bios and develop speaker platforms
- Support and feed information to the Newsroom, FedEx One and social media outlets
