Primary Job Responsibilities
This is an Engineering position in the Data Warehouse Product Engineering Team (part of eBay Technology COE) as a Product Engineer focusing on Web Application Development. This position will mainly be responsible to develop and maintain internal Self Service Analytics front end tools.
Job Requirements
- Develop new Web applications through packaged and customized applications.
- Maintain and enhance existing Web applications and all internal systems are integrated.
- Develop database-driven Web interfaces for rapid, real-time information sharing.
- Develop internal Web portals allowing users to input and retrieve analytics information.
- Participate in dynamic priority setting sessions.
- Conduct all user acceptances testing, and report results.
- Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
- Candidate must be a team player and willing to teach and to learn.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong web development experience on PHP/Flex and troubleshoot skill on latest web development architecture.
- Database backend experience would be a basic requirement; DW experience would be a plus;
- Must be a proven top performer that enjoys challenging assignments in a dynamic and fast growing workplace.
- Active team player to be able to work with different functional groups within the organization.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organization skills to effectively resolve Production issues in a timely manner.
- 2+ years of experience (or equivalent) as a software developer, with experience on web development
- Good programming skills & problem solving skills
- Good understanding of OO concept. Experience with JAVA or PHP or other OO programming language is preferred.
- Good experience in UI development, such Flex, Javascript, Java swing, etc.
- Good understanding of software development life-cycle methodologies
- Passion in software development
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Good team work spirit. Easy to get along with
- Agile experience would be a good plus
- BS degree in Computer Science or other technical fields.
