Your challenge
The role of Consumer Intelligence manager in the BG Domestic Appliances is to provide a strong consumer focus to the Kitchen Appliances business leaders and marketing managers to support growth in new markets, new value spaces and refresh the portfolio. The role has a global coverage and requires a deep understanding of local consumer needs around the world.
The challenge is to provide that deep consumer understanding, based on state of the art consumer research methodologies, including digital tools, working closely with external research partners. In order to provide a truly actionable output, a deep understanding of the business challenge is required. The role requires a strategic level of thinking, a deep understanding of trends, consumers, markets, competitors and business context, to come up with meaningful insights and recommendations.
Strong interpersonal skills are an important condition for business impact. It is important to team up with the marketing managers during the process, but also being impactful when communicating the results. Communication skills and team work are also required for building a good relation with the team based in Amsterdam.
Your responsibilities
- implement state of the art insight and concept development research to achieve high quality output and high efficiency
- supports the business in translating the concept into physical execution through design, pricing, packaging, claim testing
- executes shopper research to obtain relevant shopper insights for the business
- communicates results with impact and engages with the business to guide implementation of research findings
- pro-actively proposes the research agenda and new research methodologies
- act as a strong business partner and provides fact-based recommendations
- apply strict budget control and secure project timelines
-- establishes strong relationships with Consumer Marketing Management, Design, Global CMI, external research suppliers, CMI professionals in Business Units and Country SOs
Your team
The Marketing Intelligence (MI) team is part of the Marketing Team, reporting into the BG leader. The MI team is primarily based in Amsterdam, and consists of 7 people.
4 MI team members are dedicated to consumer intelligence, 2 MI team members focus on Market/Consumer/Digital analytics.
The most important stakeholders are consumer marketing managers/directors/business leaders within DA.
We are looking for
- Masters degree in marketing and/or social sciences with strong curriculum in Consumer Research
- 7 To 10 year experience in consumer research in a research agency or research department of a business organization
- Fluent in English, writing and reading
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- High energy, pro-active attitude
