Position: Research Fellow - Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering

Qualifications:

Essential: PhD degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing or other relevant areas; Excellent Research skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work well in a team and lead when necessary; Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks; Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Desirable: With several years of industry experience in the field of mechanical or manufacturing engineering; Publication track record; Chartered Engineer; Relevant industry R&D experience or university research experience; Demonstrate creativity and leadership in problem solving.

Salary & Benefits: RMB178,000 RMB222,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To carry out research projects in area of mechanical and manufacturing engineering covering automotive engineering, CNC machining, sustainable manufacturing, decision-making tools, Life cycle analysis etc.;
- To deliver research and contribute to the achievement of specific research objectives;
- To collaborate in writing papers for submission to journals and conferences and prepare progress reports on the results of research;
- To present the results of research at project progress meetings and at conferences;
- To assist in the co-ordination of the research and related administrative tasks, including liaising with external project collaborators;
- To undertake research to conduct assessment of the environmental impact of engineered product products throughout the various stages of product development;
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications;
- Any other duties appropriate to the grade and role of the post.
