Position Description:
Responsibilities:
1. Global Service and Support management focal point for Lenovo’s Consumer Notebook Product Line
2. Proactive design service solution or trigger new service model based on product specification and price band
3. Represent issues and concerns of regional service teams regarding all consumer notebook decisions including contract terms with ODM/OEM vendors and cost benefit/impact
4. Manage overall launch readiness of consumer notebook offerings for our regional service teams
5. Driving initiatives around customer service experience including diagnostics, design for service and online self-help
6. Measuring service performance of product in the field and drive improvement action plans back to both the product teams and extended service teams as required
7. Management of Project Management staff representing Global Service within product development teams whose responsibilities also include, but are not limited to;
o Service and Support plans and schedules
o Defining product specific warranty policy, support terms & delivery methods
o Training plans and schedules
o Internal and external communication plans for e-support
o Diagnostic policies as it pertains to Service & Support
o Knowledge management
Position Requirements:
1. 4 yr degree or equivalent in computer field or business
2. Knowledge of Product Development and Lifecycle process (concentration on hardware and diagnostics)
3. 5yrs experience in computer service / field support or related area
4. 3-5yrs management or team leader experience
5. Experience with Lean Six sigma or similar methodology
6. Project Management experience and coursework (certification desired, but not required)
7. Communication skills
8. Knowledge of global warranty, service and support operations (strong call center and field service focus)
9. Strong familiarity with Lenovo’s hardware and software portfolio
10. Fluent written and spoken English
