Electrical Engineer, PSD
The Professional Systems Division is looking for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer interested in applying their skills in a fast paced, dynamic learning environment. Flexibility, agility, and curiosity are key characteristics of the technical personnel we are seeking to hire.
As an Electrical Engineer you will be a member of or lead a multiヾiscipline product development team which will develop products from concept to production, either internal team or external engineering resources from the suppliers. Specifically this position may
(a) act as an individual contributor and member of project team in Electrical Engineering), or have formal leadership responsibility for a product development project (Lead Electrical Engineer role), achieving results by directing others or thru own actions.
(b) act as a supporting engineer (Focus on Electrical/Electronic area) in helping project team reviewing the design from vendors and their manufacturing processes including test system evaluation and deployment during various stages of sample built. Also, it is required to help Project team in translating the original design intent to the suppliers for them to carry out detail design development smoothly
As a Project Engineer or Project Manager you will support the Senior Program Manager to lead a multi-discipline team that may be located at various Bose locations and/or suppliers around the world in the execution of our projects. Depending on the project or assignment the candidate will be asked to perform either or both of Project Manager/Engineer and/or Electrical Engineer roles.
Major accountabilities
- Support Design Team in FMH deploying Bose test spec and requirement to the suppliers;
- Participate design review with the Bose team and Suppliers in various stages of product development process, and prepare proper documents helping remote team to review more effectively.
- Plans, organizes and conducts projects development under direction of the senior program manager at BOC, and technically aligned with electrical engineering manager.
- Develops and applies advanced engineering theories, and methods in the investigation and solution of complex technical problems.
- Conducts investigations or tests of considerable complexity pertaining to the development of new products, exploration of equipment, product, and/or process problems, definition and selection of new concepts and approaches in product development.
- Reviews project progress and evaluates results; recommends corrections to ensure project objectives.
- Independently makes decisions on engineering problems and methods to effectively achieve objectives set by the department.
- Interface with internal and external contacts to communicate and evaluate technical information as it relates to the area of specialization.
- May evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
Job Requirements
- 8 or more years’ experience in Electrical & Electronics design and development of consumer or professional Audio products;
- Must have an understanding of the design rules for PCB layout, EMC & etc;
- Proficiency in use of schematic capture tool and PCB layout tool is required;
- Experiences in designing amplifier & switching modes power supply are preferred;
- Experiences in dealing with international compliances including safety and EMC are required;
- Must have ability to apply creativity, sound engineering principles, and hands-on execution to effectively solve problems;
- Good reporting is required by using Microsoft Office.
- Experiences involved in project management are advantages.
- The candidate must possess excellent oral and written abilities in both Chinese and English.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering discipline and Master degree is desirable.
- PMP certification is an advantage.
