Overall Responsibilities

This leader partners with Plants Managers and Team, overseeing the overall end-to end process for a common, consistent and objective understanding, reinforcement and deployment of the GMOC – JCMS:

Foundation
Zero tolerance for waste

Action Planning – Road map development

He / she will lead by example, tangibly and visibly creating an environment that promotes:

Maturity model process standardization and minimized variability across JCI manufacturing and the BUs
Customer pain points reduction
Lean thinking & acting
Empowering employees to enhance the value of JCI products and services
Best practices sharing

This role is responsible for enabling Plants to understand their current state in terms on the JCMS Maturity Model and develop Action Plans for measurable advancement


Responsibilities

Drive to achieve at the end of week one, agreement on the JCMS assessment baseline, the effectiveness and clarity of the Maturity Model, standards and objectives, as well as identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement

Drive to achieve at the end of week two, that the plant leadership team has:

Clear understanding of:
Lean essentials: lean thinking & acting
Foundation, principles and basic tools to drive the JCMS-change

Developed an actionable sound JCMS action plan for sustainable operational improvement linked to bottom line

Understand how the JCMS Foundation and Maturity Process achieve business goals and enable JCI’s competitive advantage
Ensure the consistency of methodology cross BUs
Reinforce the change in JCMS from “tool set” to “principles”
Exhibit effective influencing techniques to ensure Plant Management and Team’s understanding, acceptance and active involvement in this process
Build relationships and influence business and functional leaders to build momentum
Monitor via outcome and in-process metrics, and provide timely and on-going performance feedback on the process adherence and deliverables
Share knowledge; “lessons learned and best practices” among Coaches, PMO and Plant Leadership
Feed requirements related to the process priorities and escalate resource issues and other roadblocks as needed, identifying potential solutions to issues
Coordinate and prioritize SME’s efforts to support Plants Action Plans.
Lead with humility, respect every individual and cultures
General Requirements

Must be a recognized and respected within JCI Manufacturing community and by Plant Managers:

as the “go to” person for expertise on CI, KT and Lean
for his/her personality with the ability to motivate others
as an active contributor who is excited at the prospect of being an influencer for the JCMS change
as open to change and willing to be a trailblazer


Experience

10 years in manufacturing environment
5 years in Lean Manufacturing
2 years in coaching or leading Lean, Six Sigma or operational / manufacturing excellence initiatives, projects or programs
BB, Preferred MBB certified; KT preferred certified
Bachelor’s degree; preferred in engineering, MBA preferred
Highly desired multicultural experience

Qualifications

Proficiency in Lean and manufacturing systems principles, concepts, framework, methodology and tools: Relentlessly drive to eliminate Waste
Facilitating skills: focus on active listening, coaching and influencing
Ability to deal with ambiguity; open to new ideas and to drive one common voice
Quickly and seamlessly adapt to changing environments, cultures and working styles
Ability to take abstract concepts and communicate them in 'real-world': operation - manufacturing terms
Able to map value streams across multiple parts of the value chain and develop insights on solutions individually and collectively; has led the creation of VSM's and led implementation of the plan to get to future state
Can effectively communicate to each level of the organization to ensure all messages are clear and important to the audience
Can effectively lead discussions with top / line managers on opportunities and risks on sustainability of the JCMS
Demonstrates clear ability to transfer value of Lean transformation thinking
Able to independently understand current state mindsets & behaviors on a group and organizational level through a combination of surveys, structured interviews and workshops
Willing to travel frequently including potential international traveling
