Purpose of the Job:
The Manager Operations Technology AEMEA is responsible for delivering the Continuous Improvement financial plan for Hershey’s Asia, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (AEMEA) region. With a strong background in applied food technology and process engineering, this individual will use their experience to collaborate with the regional technical and manufacturing staff in directing, developing and executing the region’s multi-year continuous improvement financial and capital plans.
The scope of responsibility includes providing strong leadership to influence cross-functional teams in the identification, development, and implementation of ingredient, formula, product, process and packaging optimization projects of significant importance, complexity, and scope with a focus on margin improvement, product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Additional responsibility for providing confectionery technical leadership on new product launches and new manufacturing line installation and relocation projects including technology transfer to manufacturing personnel.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Regional Commercial, R&D, Manufacturing, Legal, Quality and Regulatory, and Technical staff as well as the Corporate Center of Excellence on the technical/economic feasibility assessment, development, and appropriate implementation of strategic productivity business initiatives.
The position will directly report to the Dir Technical Solutions AEMEA and dotted line report into Global Technical Solutions center of excellence (COE). The position will be located at the Asia Innovation Center in Shanghai, China.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated Management, Leadership and Influencing skills with a proven track record of delivering significant productivity initiatives to fruition.
- Advanced problem solving and evaluation skills, six sigma certification preferred.
- Ability to assess complex multi-dimensional solutions and make critical decisions with limited information
- Ability to establish priorities and execute multifunctional strategic project objectives
- Must possess technical supervisory experience
- Collaborative skills allowing effective interactions with operations teams, technical experts, external government agencies and senior management
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects covering multiple manufacturing locations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English and Mandarin
- Ability to travel up to 50%

Education and Experience Requirements:
- B.S. in Food Science or Food, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of applicable work experience; 8 years if the candidate has a Master’s degree. A minimum of 4 years experience must be in candy, chocolate, confectionery or related snacks.
