Supplier Quality Engineer
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
? Support new product development projects to ensure acceptable quality level, right cost level and suitable production technology with suppliers
? Drive implementation and development of corporate supplier tools
? Follow-up onall necessary Supply Quality documents including, but not limited to, component qualification plan (includes manufacturing process verification), supplier quality requirements and component control plan
? Define critical-to-quality and customer/process/function parameters for key components and sub-systems
? Perform periodic supplier audits and risk assessments
? Manage First Sample Inspection process
? Validate supplier manufacturing/test/inspection plans and procedures
? Imposesupplier product/process change management process
? Maintain supplier OTD and OQD and drive continuous improvement
? Understand the commodity specific production steps and methodology and implement withcooperation of supplierfailure tracking process at supplier sites
? Work closely with tier one supplier to sustain and improve component quality
? Establish component level incoming inspection at ABB factory and/or supplier factory
? Apply 6 sigma (or similar) to drive quality and process improvement
? Automate supplier data collection and reporting
? Proactively drivefailure root cause analysis and implement together with supplier corrective and preventive actions
REQUIRED SKILLS
? At least Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Technology
? 3-5 years expertise in at least one of the following commodities: Ferrous and Non-Ferrous materials, Electro-mechanical parts, Mechanical parts, Large Electric Motor Materials - Conductive Materials, Insulation Materials, Castings, Bears, Ball and Sleeve types
? Experience in an international business, where at least 1 year in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management as well as minimum 3 years in the field of Supply Quality is preferred.
? Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
? Good command of English (both oral and written)
? Fluent oral and written presentation skills
? Strong understanding of statistical control, failure rate and reliability prediction
? Ability to work independently and under pressure
? Energetic, analytic and demanding personality
? Multicultural understanding (must understand business behavior in different regions in order to be able to reach best possible results and co-operation within a short period of time)
? Basic skills in MS office, experience in CAD is seen as an asset
? Ability to travel on a regular basis
