Therefore a new position is being opened for a highly qualified and motivated senior scientist with expertise in pharmacology and who plans to advance a career in China.

Diabetes Research China (DRC) is part of NNRCC and function as an integrated part of Novo Nordisk Diabetes Research Unit which span research sites in Denmark, Seattle, US and Beijing. DRC is responsible for supporting the diabetes and obesity research projects in the discovery phase. Currently, DRC is composed of four departments; Pharmacology & Facility, Diabetes Pharmacology, Diabetes Biology and Histopathology. We are a highly motivated and productive team with high standards for our deliveries into the projects. Main Tasks

Take responsibility in further developing the dog pharmacology at Diabetes Research China. You will plan and hands-on conduct in vivo dog pharmacology studies, perform data analysis, interpreting data and reporting results at project meetings. You are expected to supervise and mentor research associates herby promoting the collaboration culture. You are also expected to maintain state-of-the-art competencies, set-up and develop new models and new technologies. Our Research centre is growing rapidly and you will be expected to have impact on the development of our expertise area and represent the specific functional group in project teams.

You will be referring directly to the department head and your main internal contacts will be scientist colleagues, research associates, project members, and managers both in Beijing and in Denmark. Furthermore, developing and maintaining a strong external network is also going to be an important part of your work.
Qualifications

• Ph.D. within pharmacology or related sciences and with excellent scientific background
• Scientific expertise within diabetes is a plus
• 3-5+ years post-doctoral level experience in a research and/or development environment (usually acquired at Associate Scientist or Postdoctoral level)
• Experience from a pharmaceutical company is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in in vivo pharmacology
• Canine experience is a plus.
• Pharmacokinetics knowledge is a plus.
• Demonstrated scientific expertise and innovation with good track record of publication.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in English.
• Be able to handle multi-tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Flexible, open to new ideas, innovative and result oriented.

Title and compensation will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and based on benchmark in China.
