Software Design Engineer (SharePoint/SQL Server) for Microsoft Corporation
Job description:
? As a member of the E&D Systems team, drive the supportability and manageability of applications, guiding the product team through the release and deployment phase and help ensure the readiness of Production Support team.
? Interact with program and solutions management, development, and test to ensure we deliver quality applications that meet customer requirements.
? Play a key role throughout the product development cycle, collaborating on designs, features, and driving quality requirements and ensuring the product is ready for a high-availability production environment.
? Design, develop and own appropriate monitoring solutions and provide Tier 3 Production Support.
Requirements:
? A minimum of 2 years of database-related and data warehouse experience in a production environment .
? Be familiar with Sharepoint
? Strong database related skills in SQL Server 2005/2008, including OLAP, performance tuning, failover technologies and strategies, SSIS, and SSRS
? Good understanding and troubleshooting knowledge in SQL ETL processing - METAL or other ETL tools
? Good understanding and troubleshooting knowledge in SQL ETL processing - METAL or other ETL tools SQL performance tuning and data analysis.
? SQL performance tuning and data analysis
? T-SQL stored procedure development, analysis, and troubleshooting
? Database implementation, db internals
? Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows operating system
? A minimum of 2 years of IIS experience in a production environment
? - 2 + years Production Support experience managing enterprise application
? Thorough understanding of service management foundations such as ITIL or MOF
? Ability to analyze live-site issues quickly and possess a thorough understanding of client/server architectures and high-availability clustered environments
? Outstanding customer service/focus skills
? You must possess knowledge in monitoring tools and configuring them, such as MOM/SCOM.
? Demonstrated ability in implementing and supporting multi-tiered, leading edge technology at an enterprise scale.
? Prior practical experience with change control, source control, disaster recovery and backup strategies required
? You must possess strong interpersonal skills, be a critical thinker, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
? Demonstrated ability to define and follow best practices and business processes.
? A BS/MS in computer science, information systems, and engineering and/or equivalent industry experience required.
