JOB PURPOSE:
To direct production area in the manufacture and/or assembly of quality engines to meet established production requirements. Owns and sets the overall direction for thevalue stream(s) in production, with overall responsibility for PQVC performance of all the value streams including MQ12005 certification and CPS Assessment scores. This position is also responsible for leading theprocess equipment maintenance.


JOB DUTIES:
Principle Activities include:
1. Ensures effective operation ofan assigned area of manufacturing to meet established schedules and
production requirements whilemaintaining cost. Develops plans forefficient use of materials,
machines and manpower to achievemanufacturing cost, quality and inventory management target.

2. Monitors customer delivery performance, costreduction programs, lead-time improvements, and
quality improvement projects thatwill enhance customer value and business unit results.
3. Establishes cost and quality goals andensures the efficient integration of factory, logistics,
maintenance and quality to achievetargets for assigned area.

4. Ensures proper direction and supervision ofactivities in assigned area to maintain effective utilization
of personnel and machinery.

5. Determines needs and coordinates actionsrequired to maintain standards of efficiency, quality and
safety in area supervised.
6. Implement various corporate initiatives suchas 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal
Certification, etc.

7. Effectively manage daily maintenanceactivities to support stop-to-fix process and TPM activities.

8. Promotes development of peoplethrough continued education, employee involvement, increased
responsibility and ergonomics. Trains new supervisors on manufacturingquality. Sets goals and
assists team in meeting qualitygoals/standards.
9. Position should have good working knowledge of labor rules andregulations. CPS responsibilities include:
1. Manages multiple sections and reports to the facility manager.
2. Owns the Continuous Improvement process,making sure new ideas are generated, worked and
implemented, and any roadblocks areeliminated.

3. Initiates and conducts process improvementdialogs with Section Managers, Team Leads and Team
Members.

4. Develops detailed near-term andlong-term production plans.
5. Drives root cause analysis andresolution on all forms of loss, i.e., safety, quality, production.

6. Performs periodic audits for safetybehavior, 5S, quality and MQ12005, standard work, productivity
and overall equipment effectiveness(OEE).
This position will be responsible for a three-shift operation in someplants and/or may have responsibility
for a major area on a specific shift. Coordination of material, equipment, manpower and quality rests with
this position as well as meeting schedule requirements. Work direction, problem solving andcoordination
with support departments is a major responsibility. Determining budgetrequirements, cost savings
projects, forecasting production needs and ensuring quality standards aremaintained rests with this
position.

Adheres to established standards,policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics,affirmative action, etc. in performing assigned duties.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: Requires a thorough knowledge of CPS processesand tools,
manufacturing operations, general knowledge of related areas, previousexperience as Section Manager is required. A college degree or equivalent workexperience is required for this position. Must complete the CPS Group Managerfunctional curriculum. Good human relations skills are required to develop acooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
