Job Summary:

To directly supervise employees in providing support for production scheduling, materials planning and inventory control, including their coaching, training and development. To provide functional leadership through long term production and capacity planning.




Major Duties and Responsibilities

# Provides direct supervision of assigned staff in providing materials control services. Conducts selection, training and development, work allocation, performance review and evaluation. Recommends and implements department policies and procedures, as well as corrective action to resolve problems. Improves department operations by examining alternative processes and methods to better utilize resources and materials. Responsible for projecting and controlling department expenditures.

# Develops, executes and modifies production plans for product lines to meet forecasted targets and inventory objectives. Develops longterm capacity plans based on forecasts, rates and yields. Prepares forecasts for raw material requirements, equipment needs, etc. May prepare plans to include product moves, transfers, productivity improvements and equipment shutdowns.

# Establishes, defines and forecasts inventory operating levels and goal attainment for customer service and inventory investment. Summarizes, publishes and reviews extensive business indices, criticals and other related reports to identify potential improvement areas and/or key problems. Evaluates and interprets sales trends and forecasts to determine its impact on inventory. May negotiate supplier contracts.

# Participates in new product development and introduction through material planning, organization of experimental runs, production scale up, product promotion and phase in. May identify and phase out unprofitable products. Evaluates existing planning functions and procedures to initiate and implement systems improvement.

# Implements cost and waste reduction programs to improve productivity and product quality. Participates in and leads task forces and crossfunctional teams. Initiates and completes special projects. Performs other duties as assigned.




Qualifications

# Bachelor degree is generally required. Master's degree is preferred.

# A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant working experience is required.

# Expert/master knowledge and experience with the most current theories and practices in one or more related professional disciplines such as production, materials control, warehousing, etc. In addition, likely to have broad knowledge of multiple related disciplines.

# Knowledge of computer programs and corporate systems relevant to the assigned area of responsibility is normally required.

# Generally requires the ability to communicate in written and spoken English.

# Have experience to lead the logistic team.
