职位描述
1.SCOPE
Responsible for maintenance of mechanical and electrical, process control and instrumentation systems. Responsible also for process improvement where automation, both mechanical and electrical, modifications, investigations and improvements are required.
2.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
To keep the Engineering Manager fully informed of the operations of the Engineering group and any issues that may impact the Engineering groups’ responsibilities and authorities.
Implement, via liaison with Production and Quality departments, production improvements where such improvements are mechanical, electrical, instrumentation or process control based.
Management of the Engineering mechanical employees and salaried Electricians group.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1Have daily control of the mechanical (2452) and electrical (2459) revenue budgets. Set the yearly revenue budget for both areas in conjunction with the engineering. Participate in monthly budget reviews in conjunction with the engineering manager.
2.2Perform “Performance Management Appraisal and Review”. Review each Engineering employees efficiency and methods to ensure a high level of competency.
2.3Communicate new developments, changes, improvements and procedure revisions to all engineering employees’ as required.
2.4Liaise with engineering leading hands to ensure plant and equipment is available for line changes in accordance with line change advice from the Planning Department.
2.5Assist in all R&D planning to ensure manufacturing parameters are and can be achieved with the available manpower.
2.6Assist in Policy and Procedure development and implementation as required by the company’s management.
2.7Liaise with the Process Manager and Production Supervisors with regard to equipment maintenance requirements and priorities.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED)
2.8Responsible for maintaining an efficient organisation for the execution of Planned Maintenance for all plant and equipment, both mechanical and electrical.
2.9Plan, organize and manage Engineering requirements for Annual Maintenance Shutdowns
2.10Initiate any maintenance or repairs needed in any area that in unscheduled or outside the Planned Maintenance System.
2.11Ensure plant and equipment is in sound, safe working conditions at all times.
2.12Liaise with Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor and provide labour as required to ensure plant contracts, services and maintenance are sustained at a high level and to ensure conformance of all supplied services.
2.13Ensure a high level of housekeeping is maintained at all times.
2.14Initiate requisitioning of employee clothing requirements.
2.15Requisitioning of indirect materials to be purchased. Recommend spare parts and components for Store inclusion or deletion.
2.16Investigation of cost reduction plans for energy and water.
2.17Review documentation and recommend/ implement changes wherever necessary.
2.18Confirm that employee timesheets are correct and information is precise.
2.19Provide reports and memos as required.
2.20Ensure all safety rules, regulation, policies and procedures are enforced
2.21Responsible for accident/incident investigation, reporting and corrective action plans.
2.22Liaise with other departments on safety matters and ensure that corrective action is carried out and completed.
2.23Communicate all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures to employees and any changes as they occur. Ensure all employees are aware of workplace hazards and are skilled in the areas of:
? Reporting Accident/Incidents
? Reporting Near Miss or unsafe conditions/events
? Use of protective clothing and equipment
? Emergency exits and evacuation procedure.
? Manual Handling requirements.
2.24Ensure correct planning, distribution and recording of W/O via W/O S.O.P.s’
2.25Responsible reviewing CPA’s and assisting Capex Manager with CPA’s as required.
2.26Review department labour to ensure maintenance and project work can be completed by use of Devro employees and where required, by the use of overtime and/or contractors.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED)
2.27Responsible for recruiting personnel for department vacancies in conjunction with the HR Manager and with the Managing Directors’ approval
2.28Be an active participant in the Devro Excellence and 5S programs
3.WORK HEALTH & SAFETY/ENVIRONMENT/FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY
Devro has comprehensive Work Health & Safety (WHS), Environment and Food Safety & Quality management systems in place. Within the policy documents for each of these systems, duties and responsibilities for this position are specified.
It is the incumbent’s duty to ensure they comply with all Devro policies including, but not limited to, the Work Health and Safety Policy, Environmental Policy and Food Safety & Quality Policy.
4.QUALIFICATIONS
Trade qualification in an engineering discipline.
Supervising Experience
Five years’ experience as a tradesperson
