Role Summary/Purpose

CBS intends to hire one Automation Engineers who will be accountable for the electrical design and control system software for customized and modified products.
The Automation Engineers reports directly to the local Leader of Customized Bioprocess Solutions in China.

Essential Responsibilities

• Specify customer system layout
• Software specifications according to customer and system needs
• Automation control system configuration and implementation
• Documentation of the electrical and software design
• Writing internal test plans
• Performing and reporting internal tests
• Support sales and service organization
• Meet regulatory requirements
• Provide technical support for local sourcing activities
• Quickly understand new bio-process and requirements to provide relevant solution
• Identify the specifications and provide the design for the standardization of products for the local market
• Experience with industrial automation human machine interface design
• Preferable experience with Wonderware ArchestrA
• Exposure to programmable logic controller programs and software
• Demonstrated ability to design industrial automation electrical hardware systems following industry standards (NFPA, CE Marking)
• Experience at developing, supporting and troubleshooting programmable logic controller programs and software

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or above.
Earlier experience working with Autodesk AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Exposure to government regulated industries (GMP, GAMP).
• Experience with one of the following platforms: DeltaV, Allen Bradley PLC, Wonderware ArchestrA, SIEMENS PCS.
• Experience authoring and reviewing standard operating procedures, on-the-job-trainings, and other controlled documents.
• Experience in managing small to medium-sized projects and outside vendors.

• Quality focus - design product that meet the customer requirements.
• Collaboration - easy to cooperate with other roles and persons within CBS and GE Globally.
• Structured - have a good order of documentation, planning and issues
• Technical view - be able to identify and solve technical problems
• Fluent in written and verbal English and Chinese is mandatory.
• Customer focus - deliver in time and constantly meet customer expectations

• Good integrity. Able to speak his/her mind openly and get the message across.
• Good Computer Skills.
• Provide software requirement specification to R&D team for the function change and provide the support on translation and testing.
• Knowledge of PLC, DCS, Field Instrument, SCADA, OPC protocol, Modbus.(LP-Banding)
• Able and willing to work in customers' site or supplier's site
• Prepared to travel often in China and outside China

Desired Characteristics

• Master with 5+ years' experience or Bachelor with 8+ years' experience from automation system design.
• Project Experience in Bio-pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, or Food & Beverage would be a plus
• Training Certification of PLC, SCADA would be a plus.
• Knowledge in Chinese electrical standards is an advantage.
