Job Responsibilities:
The Consumer Insight Manager works closely with the Head of Strategic Marketing to build strong consumer insight capabilities in brand and product marketing at BSH China with the ultimate goal of helping capture market opportunities. Major responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
1,Insight opportunity assessment: conduct regular need assessment for consumer insight in consultation with strategy, business units, marketing, sales, & customer service.
2,Planning & managing research programs: develop annual research budget & plan; evaluate research suppliers and project proposals; managing research projects; and conduct quality check on agency work.
3,Use of consumer insights: share consumer insight throughout the company; assess impact of research on business operation.
4,Value-added services: research methodology consultation, ad-hoc data analysis support, trend scouting in neighboring industries, and synthesis of insights from diffent levels and fields.
Essential Skill Set Required:
The Consumer Insight Manager should have excellent business acumen, strong analytical skills, broad methodological sophistication, and greate communicative confidence to work effectively in this role.
1,Business acumen. This individual must be quick at identifying informational needs from a manager’s point of view and translating them into answerable research problems. He or she must also be able to help product and brand managers translate research findings into proposals to solve business problems.
2,Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes, draw insights and business implications from complex data, and deliver them in simple language and format.
3,Knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of various quantitative and qualitative research methods, and the contexts in which they can be used.
4,Candidates must also possess strong communication skills to exert influence. He or she is an attentive listener, a natural presenter, and fluent in both written and spoken English.
Basic Qualifications:
1,Bachelor’s degree or above in the social sciences or humanities.
2,Minimum 5 years of working experience, preferably with 2-3 years with research agencies, as well as 1-2 years of in-house experience in home appliance industry.
3,Demonstrated experience in managing research projects from beginning to end.
