Role Summary/Purpose

The AME Program Leader is a critical, cross-functional leadership role that will help us elevate our performance with product quality, NPI readiness, & product life cycle management. This role serves as a primary interface between the supply chain & other key stakeholders and leads cross-functional processes & Op Mechs to drive improvements in product performance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Product Quality: Responsible for improving product quality performance by driving cross-functional initiatives with released products and within NPI cycles
• New Product Introductions (NPI): Responsible for creating and delivering on the MFG Strategy for NPI programs, including the manufacturing plan and manufacturing deliverables. Responsible for program management of manufacturing NPI deliverables required to establish optimal supply chains & production processes for each product launch, and to ensure launch readiness and launch quality.
• New Product Introductions: Leadership in driving key Operations requirements into each product launch, including Quality initiatives, Lean initiatives, Simplification initiatives, and Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFM/DFA) initiatives.
• Product life cycle management: Responsible for driving cross-functional activities to product vitality and minimize component obsolescence issues and to manage product End of Life initiatives.
• Primary linkages are to the Design and Install Base Engineering teams, the Product Marketing teams, and the Quality and Service teams that have responsibility for your products and to all facets of the Operations teams that execute supply chain, make and test processes for your products.
• Ability to work in a global environment, across cultures, geographies, and time zones.

Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Knowledge and understanding of document control, design transfer, verification, validation, acceptance activity, DMR, DHR and electronic signature requirements to ensure that product, equipment, tools, processes, software, training and documentation meet requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

1. B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree and 3 years’ experience or Associates Degree and 5 years’ experience or High School diploma with 7 years of experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting
2. Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
3. Ability to work independently
4. Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization
5. Ability to identify and implement Best Practices
6. Ability to influence in a matrix organization, across multiple functions, business units and locations.
7. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, interpret, and resolve unstructured problems.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner to all levels of the organization.

Desired Characteristics

1. MS/PHD in technical concentration/field
2. Previous experience in sourcing, shop floor leadership, manufacturing engineering, design engineering and/or process engineering.
3. 6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified
4. Experiences in Process Intensive manufacturing
5. Product and Process Development experience
6. Working knowledge of product life cycle methods (i.e. specification, design, implementation, verification & validation) and associated documentation
7. Solid working knowledge of GEHC QMS procedures for GMP
8. Experienced developing tools and templates
9. Previous experience in sourcing, shop floor leadership, manufacturing engineering, design engineering and/or process engineering
10. Minimum 3 years work experience in a highly regulated environment such as medical or aviation equipment manufacture.
11. Strong process orientation, project management certification a plus.
12. Advanced Degree – Masters of Business Administration or Masters of Engineering.
