Our group designs, builds, and tests Xbox console and accessories, including the award winning Xbox Wireless Controller, Wireless Microphone, and Wireless Racing Wheel etc. We are looking for an experienced and creative Mechanical Engineer who has a proven track record of managing and developing complex high volume consumer products.

Candidates should be self-motivated with the ability to lead others to implement hardware and mechanical design across a variety of products and technologies.

As a ME in the team, you will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical engineering related to product design. You will work with ID, Usability, EE, Plastics Engineering, and other in-house and contract engineers to define and document the product mechanical design, write technical specifications, lead design reviews, and manage development partners to deliver the final manufacturing-ready mechanical designs. You will be responsible for following Microsoft’s product development processes and best practices.

Qualified candidates must have track record in designing and developing high volume consumer electronics products, from concept to manufacturing, effective written and oral communication skills, well-developed cross-organizational and project management skills, and excellent technical design knowledge.

Responsibilities include

- Lead the mechanical design while working with a cross functional team to achieve optimal balance of project priorities relative to performance, extensibility, development cost, and product cost with focus on building robust products.

- Mechanical support for production qualification and ongoing process enhancements through part and process consolidation, technology integration and component selection.

- Design support and cycle time enhancement for Injection Mold and Metal Stamping Tool qualifications

- Design and debug of consumer electronics mechanical designs and engineering, including thin wall plastics, packaging of electronics, and metal technologies.

- System and component level thermal, environmental and agency compliance development and qualification support.

Qualifications:

- Good English communication skills

- Proficiency in the use and file management of Pro/Engineer CAD tools, including complex organic surfacing. This proficiency should be demonstrated in the design completion of a high volume consumer electronic product within the last year.

- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated work experience in consumer electronics mechanical design and qualification.

- A general knowledge of injection molding and metal stamping tooling design and construction as well as molding processing

- The ability to manage multiple design activities and development schedules.

- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required.

- Must be enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven

- Position requires domestic and international travel
