A unique opportunity exists to join an innovative and high-performing team in Microsoft Hardware (MSH). MSH is focused on building high-potential products, services, and businesses that contribute substantial long-term user and customer value to Microsoft. You will drive innovation through new interaction models that leverage users senses such as touch, sound, and vision that when combined with applications bring a strong emotional connection with customers.
The impact you will have is on defining the customer experience with our products from the first time a user comes in contact with our product to the way the product behaves functionally through ongoing use, your design expertise will be needed to shape the experience. Our diverse UX team calls for a variety of skills and expertise for delivering compelling physical and digital experiences.

We are looking for a designer who can:
Have a great track record in creating highly functional, user-focused, complete, and desirable designs
Effectively prototype to the right level of fidelity using a variety of methods from paper to digital.
Be able to lead teams through the design process and partner effectively within cross-functional teams
Have the ability to think strategically, act tactically, and solve problems quickly
Utilize customer and user research to drive design decisions
Clearly and persuasively communicate and present design concepts and solutions
Understand and incorporate technical, business and user requirements into designs.
Manage and build relationships with various stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications:
All candidates must provide a resume, an online portfolio, and relevant work samples along with inquiries
3-5 years of experience in interaction design
3+ years of prototyping experience and tools such as Flash or Silverlight/WPF
Deep knowledge of designer tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator
Proven ability to drive design thinking and be a thought leader in creating good end-to-end experiences.
Strong detail orientation, and an obsession for accuracy and consistency
Clear, organized written and oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to learn and understand underlying technical concepts
Bachelors in HCI, interaction design, or related field required.
Some domestic and international travel may be required.
