Firmware Architect / Sr. Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Our group designs, builds, and tests Xbox console and accessories, including the award winning Xbox Wireless Controller, Wireless Microphone, and Wireless Racing Wheel etc. We are looking for an experienced and creative Firmware Architect who has a proven track record of managing and developing complex high volume consumer products.

The candidate must demonstrate strong ownership and accountability, has excellent communication skills, and has great analytical skills. The candidate should have the ability to architect and design multi-processor application running across multiple systems. Providing leadership on both technology and project management related issues. The candidate will define the firmware architecture and work with the hardware team to optimize the system through creative partitioning of firmware and hardware. In addition to define firmware architecture, the candidate must be able to assist in component selection through the estimation of required resource (such as MIPS, memory footprint) to implement a certain component.

Requirements:

§ Bachelor or master degree in Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Automation or equivalent,

§ At least 8 years working experience in firmware or windows driver development,

§ At least 3 years working experience in architecting firmware and system,

§ Experience in DSP design on audio, video and image process,

§ Experience in working with cross functional team to design product features and trade-offs,

§ Experience in translating standards and customer requirement into technical specification,

§ Experience with embedded system with RTOS or embedded system without OS,

§ Experience in drafting SOW and driving supplier to deliver high quality components,

§ Good oral and written English communication ,

§ Understanding of circuit diagram and microprocessor hardware is a huge plus,

§ Familiar with the theory of operation system is a plus.
