Position Description:
The Service Product Engineer position is fully accountable for developing and implementing the strategic and tactical initiatives associated with service parts engineering management which includes product engineering, service bill of material, engineering change and substitution management and consistent engineering policy & process across certain GEO of worldwide.

This position is the GEO focal point of contact for external Service Partners, external Commodity Vendors & internal business divisions with regard to overall spare parts engineering management. The Service Parts Engineering team work daily operations with global Service Partners & Commodity Vendors, resolve escalations, drive strategic initiatives and ensure globally consistent engineering practice. The overall vision for this team is to be the industry benchmark for global Service Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

1- Represents Worldwide services to lead Service parts engineering and master data support for all PC products of Lenovo, which include Notebook, Desktop, Server, Netbook, Display, and other peripherals;

2- Play the role of focal points in certain GEO to provide timely and effective service parts engineering and master data support on both NPI and lifecycle, including SBOM, Substitutions, ECs, Service Parts information or usage, etc., to counterparts in the GEO, including Geo team, Service Partners, AWSPs, FSPs, Technical Support (Level 2) teams, etc.;

3- Follow the consistent global engineering policy, process & procedure to achieve and improve effectiveness and success of daily service parts operations and planning for local and worldwide. Fulfill KPI for measuring Service PE support and EC management. Publish daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, audit & reconcile to monitor the KPI;

4- Provide full and effective Service Engineering Support to Lenovo PC Services, WW Service Operations and Deliveries, GEOs to achieve KPI, such as PAL, TAT, CDS, etc. Manage Service Partners & Global Supply Chain Commodity Vendors to contractual service level agreement; supervise outsourced service partners to follow the contract, agreement and process aligned on the service parts operations. Organize and attend regular BMS with SPs to discuss critical issues and coordinate to provide solution;

5- Actively collaborate with development team to dismantle NPI machine, define new FRU/FAP, provide inputs into NPI SBOM structure and contents design, validate SBOM from service engineering perspective, improve the SBOM accuracy and completeness;

6- Lead and develop end-to-end service parts Engineering Change management process. Represent WW services to review ECs to ensure each EC is accurate and reasonable for service business, minimize impact of disposition and Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) caused by EC;

7- Lead and develop standardized and off-spec substitution process and logic driven by service business, provide support to GEO counterparts on sub validation for reducing backlog or LTB and inventory planning, etc.;

8- Conducted analysis on the large amount of service parts data collected, collaborate with R&D, BT/IT to improve the service master data process, strategy and accuracy for long term;

9- Organize trainings for SPs, GEO, AWSPs, FSPs, L2 to introduce the correct usage of PE & Master Data tools, process, if needed.

Position Requirements:
1- Must have Electronics or Computer Engineering background in hardware. (Highly preferred those with strong knowledge or skills of the hardware of computers, tablets, smartphones, servers, etc.);

2- 1~2 years proven experiences in servicing, repairing or testing of Electronics HW products;

3- Experiences in hardware servicing for Electronics devices and service Master data, such as SBOM, Sub, ECs, will be highly valued;

4- Must have good verbal and written communication & presentation skills in English and Mandarin, including ability to influence and express concepts concisely to multi-national audience

5- Must be eager to learn with fast learning curve

6- Must have strong sense of urgency and be able to standard pressure and load of work;

7- Must be a dedicated and dependable team player, willing to follow guidelines given by company and management to help the whole team achieve success;

8- Good program management and communication skills;

9- Able to quickly adapted to multi-cultural, multi-country & multi-time zone business environment with very fast changes

10- Self-driven, hands-on & results-oriented to perform in a cross-functional internal and external partner environment.
