Scope/Responsibilities:

An opening is available in the Design Compliance Engineering (DCE) organization for a person with hardware validation experience and a desire to apply that experience to new product development. As a member of Bose’s team of product development experts, you will work with engineers at Bose and at our vendors to ensure the quality and reliability of Bose’s products. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the design and delivery of world-leading audio solutions, while working in an innovative and technically stimulating environment.

The position will support hardware design validation of new products as well as test support for existing products (continuing engineering). Responsible for developing product validation plans with input gathered from product definitions, product specifications, design engineering and the technical leads within the DCE group. The DCE functional areas include EMC, Product Safety, Mechanical/ Environmental testing, Global product compliance etc.

Work tasks include: Supporting program validation activities within Design Compliance Engineering. This includes being part of the program teams as a representative of DCE, monitoring scheduling of tests, monitoring test results, reporting status to the program teams, communicating validation status between Bose China and Bose Framingham, and writing deviations whenever necessary. Testing will be for a variety of products at multiple stages of product development. Limited failure analysis may be required, commensurate with his/her education or experience level.


Skills
- Project management and good organizational background
- Ability to multi-task and have good time management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with multiple internal organizations and PFR vendors across different countries.
- Basic skills needed are electrical and or electro-mechanical engineering knowledge
- Knowledge of general electrical circuits is desirable along with use of industry standard electronics measurement equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical or environmental effects on products such as shock, vibration or thermal operating conditions is desirable.
- EMC and or Product Safety compliance experience is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required, along with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel - and Word applications. Ability to work independently. Audio experience a plus.
