职位描述
Leads development of new products and on-time completion of R&D tasks for product pipeline in Asia. Works with cross-functional peers to establish strategic initiatives in technology, set and achieve R&D goals. Assists the R&D SVP and other senior Operations personnel to achieve organizational consensus in Asia on technical plans and desired outcomes for product development and/or improvement. Identifies and maximizes technical resources to advance R&D goals. Inspires and energizes all employees through personal leadership, influence and insightful communication.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Function as a R&D Regional Head
- Lead new product development efforts in Asia
- Lead research projects for Asia region
- Continuously track and report new project activities and progress in Asia in collaboration with global R&D leadership team.
- Co-ordinate support to Global Operations and contract manufacturing staff
- Communicate project status and update Worldwide R&D in USA and Regional Marketing regarding opportunities to improve regional product development.
- Leverage external partner resources and expertise for development and research request projects.
- Coordinate, train, and manage R&D scientists in Asia for above tasks
- Review and confirm regional product development budgets are within scope
- Develop adaptation strategy for global processes to deliver regional R&D requirements
- Manage R&D trial planning with key plant teams (Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Facilities, etc.).
- Confirm product development strategies consider global operational efficiencies, and when possible recommend amendments to improve resource efficiencies in collaboration with global R&D leadership team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and mentor staff based at regional sites with targeted guidance and emphasis on clear, timely results and personal growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
Required
· Management of R&D teams for product development.
· Ability to prioritize with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects and organize workloads, with effective outcomes for R&D.
· Can solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities with limited supervision.
· Strong customer and results orientation.
· Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
· Possesses strong written and persuasive verbal communication skills in English.
· Has capacity to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to diversity.
Preferred
· Ability to impact international product development and delivery beyond Asia
Experience:
Required
· Minimum of 7 years of research experience in one or more product development areas within Foods, Supplements or related industry.
· R&D team leader with 3 years of experience in the Foods, Supplements, Pharmaceutical Cosmetics and/or related field
· Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and other PC related applications.
· Proven international track record.
Preferred
· Experience using PLM software applications, e.g., Agile.
Education:
Required
· MS with a major in Food Science, Pharmacy or other related technical programs
Preferred
PhD preferred,Significant knowledge of project management
