RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for all engineering activities incl. support to acquisition of new projects, execution of awarded projects, maintenance of SOP projects, alignment with Electronics China Engineering Director to define engineering strategy with budget and resource needs
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Ensure execution of local design projects in budget, in time and in quality
? Monthly track the ED&D spending
? Monthly review project status in terms of scope, schedule, customer delivery, sign-off as well as technical aspects
? Ensure execution of global design projects in budget, in time and in quality
? Regularly align with global CBU Chief Engineer
? Monthly track ED&D spending (local and global)
? Monthly review project status together with the global CBU Chief Engineer
? Involve local engineers in the global development
? Ensure right support to acquisition of projects from local Chinese OEM
? Regularly review with sales to be prepared for future projects
? Organize training of product knowledge required by future projects
? Support acquisition with right engineers, right knowledge as well as right support from CTC
? Ensure right support to acquisition of projects from global OEM in China
? Regularly align with global CBU Chief Engineer
? Organize transfer of knowledge required by future projects
? Support acquisition with right engineers and right support from CTC and global CBU
? Ensure support to launch and to maintenance of the SOP projects
? Ensure right engineers and right knowledge to support launch and quality analysis
? Manage scope change / engineering change after SOP
? Alignment with China Engineering Director
? Define engineering capability ramp up priority and roadmap
? Ensure engineering talent development by training and coaching
? Define ED&D budget based on TBL and based on strategic decision from management and JCI Electronics China Engineering Director
? Ensure proper resources needed by projects
? Define engineering strategy to support profitable growth
QUALIFICATIONS:
Academic experience to include:
? Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering/manufacturing or Electrical Engineering
? Master degree is preferred (ideally MBA)
Professional experience to include:
? Minimum of 5 years in Automotive Electronics industry, preferably Mechanical design
? International experience (e.g. international assignment or experience in MNC)
? Experience at leading min. 15 engineers for at least 3 years
Professional competencies to include:
? Effective communication in both written and spoken forms using English
? Analytical and systematical approach
