Hardware Developer – High voltage

Circuit design of compact medium frequency high voltage units for x-ray generators in the frequency range from 50kHz to approximately 500kHz with an average power up to 5kW and a maximum peak power of 150kW. Developing of ideal power control circuits and dimensioning the unit components for e.g. transformers, voltage multipliers, cascades, high voltage diodes and measuring dividers with the inclusion of latest technologies and materials.
The function comprised the concept design, detailed design and the necessary test results and documentation up to the series design, working in a development and project team.

Main tasks
Circuit design of compact medium frequency high voltage units for x-ray generators in the frequency range from 50kHz to approximately 500kHz with an average power up to 5kW and a maximum peak power of 150kW.
Developing of ideal power control circuits for the high voltage unit.
Design of electrical (high voltage cascades, voltage multiplier, high voltage (HV) divider, HV capacitors, HV diodes, tec.) and electromagnetic (high voltage transformers, resonance inductors, etc.) components by calculating, simulation, test and verification of prototypes.
Concept and accomplishment of approval tests.
Compiling of the technical product and process documentation
Planning of own activities
Development and presentation of concepts and demonstration of the development progress.

Mandatory requirements
Successful completed academic study of electrical engineering, high voltage or power electronic.
Substantial knowledge of insulation technology for high voltage applications.
Knowledge about switched mode full bridge resonance topologies.
Substantial knowledge in analog and digital circuit design.
Independently and systematic working style as well as determination in persuit and realisation of the composed objectives.
Team player with high motivation
Analytical competence and pragmatic approach
Communication skills and sociable to internal and external partners
Fluent in spoken and written English

Desirable requirements
Above 6 years work experience in electrical power supply and power electronics or high voltage design.
· Developing circuit diagrams and electrical layouts with Cadence software.
Experiences and knowledge with electronic circuit simulation tools (e.g. Plecs, Simplorer, PSpice, MathCad, Maxwell 2d/3d, Ansys, Opera)
Experience in EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) and high-frequency technology
Good knowledge in MS Office (Word and Excel) and executive programs
