Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

¨ Highly productive and hands-on in vivo scientist in a laboratory-based role

¨ Carry out a wide range of animal behavioral tests to evaluate compounds for efficacy

¨ Characterize behavioral phenotype of various animal models of neurodegenerative diseases with a focus on Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

¨ Capable of analyzing data and maintaining a laboratory notebook independently

¨ Provide clear and concise summaries of own work at departmental meetings

¨ Contribute to solving experimental problems

¨ Have a good knowledge of literature relevant to neurodegenerative diseases and desire to continue developing interest in program-related science

¨ Be able to incorporate existing and new technology to positively influence project direction.

¨ Work to highest standards of safety in a lab environment

Basic Requirement:

¨ M.S. or Ph.D. in a biological, medical or neuroscience disciplines.

¨ Demonstrates competency of scientific achievement in research over a period of at least 2 years

¨ Experience of handling animals and running in vivo assays

¨ Good verbal and written communication skills in English language

Specialized Knowledge/Preferred Requirements:

¨ Some knowledge and experience in animal behavioral neuroscience a plus/bonus

¨ Knowledge of neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Diseases

¨ Preferably with some pharmaceutical industry experience
