GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Engineer, Supplier Quality & Development (SQDE) will support the overall Quality Management System. This position must drive incoming quality by evaluating new and existing suppliers. The SQDE will support the Federal-Mogul receiving sites in the region and globally as required across the Business Units and at the direction of the Manager. Specific projects will be deliverable as the prevailing business needs demand. The SQDE will be a focal point for problem solving activites between the Federal-Mogul receiving site and the supply-base. The SQDE develops audit plans and documents and reports audit results, including any non-conformances. The SQDEs drive the preventive and corrective action programs they are involved in and will also be responsible for driving compliance to Purchasing and Plant directives, where applicable.
? Conduct Visits, Initial Assessments and Audits at suppliers, potential suppliers and at Federal-Mogul locations as required by the Manager.
? Carry out special projects and assignments as deemed appropriate by the Manager.
? Collect and analyse data to determine appropriate courses of action to improve supplier performance.
? Promote and deliver assistance to the supply base to encourage improvements in performance.
? Submit objective and pro-active reports in a timely fashion to further improve the working relationship between Federal-Mogul and its Supply Base.
? Carry out pro-active problem solving activities with Federal-Mogul’s supply base.
? Monitor and review supplier performance using SupplyNet and other appropriate metrics.
? Monitor and promote the use of the Global Approved Supplier List with Federal-Mogul receiving sites.
? Lead the New Product Introduction (PPAP Submissions, APQP) programs for Federal-Mogul at local site levels as required.
? Assist and support the New Product Introduction (PPAP Submissions, APQP) programs for Federal-Mogul at Global Purchasing levels as required.
? Regularly training suppliers and local plants team for supplier management tools (SupplyNet, FM-TIPS, ASL).
? Work closely with other sections of Global Purchasing to achieve cost savings and improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of Federal-Mogul’s supply base.
? Develop and publish reports demonstrating the effective management of the supply base through the strategy disseminated through the Managers and the Purchasing Director, Supplier, Quality & Development.
? Implement and support the overall Strategy of Global Purchasing and Federal-Mogul as a whole.
? Support Continuous Improvement activities throughout the organization.
? Communicate and promote Policies and Procedures of Supplier Quality and Development throughout the Supply base and Federal-Mogul.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

? Degree in Engineering is required (mechanical preferred).
? Training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred.
? Minimum three (4) years quality/engineering work experience required.
? Auditing (External/Internal) experience preferred.
? Demonstrated involvement in complex projects with attention to detail.
? Practical work experience with automotive tools and standards desirable (e.g., TS16949:2009, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flows, AIAG, AITF).
? Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
? Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
? Working knowledge of measuring techniques in a manufacturing environment.
? Ability to communicate with foreign team in English.
